I went shopping over the weekend as I have no pants that fit. I could't find ANYTHING that fit me!!! And when I went home, I decided that I should try on my winter clothes & to my dismay, NOTHING fit me!!! I can't believe I've gained so much weight in only a year!!! So, besides diet & exercise, is there anything I can do to really jump start the weight loss??? I've been thinking about SlimQuick or Alli, or something to that affect. Of course I want to do it the healthiest way possible, but there's not much time left to fit into my winter clothes. I don't have the funds to buy a new wardwrobe. Any suggestions you have will be much appreciated!!!

For a quick jump-start, with real results, I suggest you try the Dr TED diet. Oprah reviewed it on her show last year. I lost 11 lbs the first 2 weeks. I know someone else who lost 20 lbs in one month. If you stick to the plan, you can lose up to one lb a day. There is only one doc in the area doing it - he's in Plano. Yes, it is offered by a real medical doctor. Cost was about $500 for 4 weeks and that includes everything and covers the weekly visit to their office for weigh in and B12 shots.

Hi D., i can understand how hard it is when ur own clothes dont fit u!! I have experienced the same thing myself.. ONLY REGULAR EXERCISE will help u greatly.. i have experienced this myself. Be determined to use the gym in ur own apt.,(u must be having one, i hope) daily atleast for one hour. U can see results in one month from now. Pls dont take up any dieting classes and waste money when u can follow it at home urself. Eat heavy breakfast, a little heavy lunch and a very little dinner and that too the dinner u must finish it early maybe around 7.30/8.00.Drink liquids after that or eat a fruit. Get up early in the morning for the next day. Get support from ur hubby. He seems to be very good and all positive so he will definitely help u in losing ur weight. There must be somebody who need to keep us pushing/pampering to do a thing.This is natural human tendency. Regular exercise and proper diet at the right time will help a lot. But u just have to be determined and think positive.Dont keep thinking about ur weight itself, forget it . Divert ur emotions on something very constructive. Iam doing the same thing myself now! Have you considered a vegetarian diet? People become vegetarians for many different reasons...animal rights, it's better for the environment, and reduces the risk of heart disease.

Check out GoVeg.com, there is a lot of good information there.
A vegetarian diet will help you slim down while saving the lives of an average of 100 animals a year.

100 acres of land will produce enough beef for 20 people but enough wheat to feed 240 people. If we eat the plants we grow instead of feeding them to animals, the world's food shortage will disappear virtually overnight.

It is super aggressive and not very easy, but it works.

If you do it for a week or so it will give you a GREAT BIG jump start. When you are finished, start something like the south beach diet and walk half an hour when you have time. You will lose your weight in NO TIME if you stick to it!

At one point in time I lost 90 pounds in less than a year... no diet pills or anything crazy. I did the lemonade diet and then south beach or atkins in cycles. I didn't even work out very much... just simple walking.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I think that's about it, although I think it can come off pretty fast if you're eating right. I don't exercise much except for chasing my son around so I can't speak to that, but I think the South Beach Diet is closest to healty dieting. It's like a diabetes diet (I went on one while pregnant w/gestational diabetes) - moderate portions, balancing protein/veggies & Carbs at all times. If you want icecream, for example, have a slice of lunchmeat or some cheese first - slows down the sugar absorption into the blood stream. Worked very well for me (I need to get back on it :)

As we all know, eating right and exercising is the only way that truly works. I have gained weight, too, and I hate it. But, I know for me, as soon as I cut out soft drinks, I'll immediately lose 13 pounds. I don't know why 13, but it's happened several times. I love Dr. Pepper's and always go back to drinking them and that's when the weight comes back on. I'll never be the size I want to be again. If you are struggling with wardrobe, you might try Freecycle.org to get some stuff free. I have gotten VERY nice clothes on Freecycle before. Good luck with all of it! I know it's a constant struggle....for me, too. B. P.
