M.B.
I use Huggies overnites. They are great! I have 3 boys and overnites save a lot of time doing laundry!!
I have a 7 mo old boy, who mostly sleeps through the night - approximately 12 hours. Each morning, or in the middle of the night when he awakens, his diaper is totally soaked and it leaks through to his onesie & fleece sleeper.
I have gotten into the habit of double diapering with the front of the upper diaper positioned as high as possible. This doesn't always do the trick. I have been using Pampers Cruisers Size 3 at night. I use Pampers Swaddlers Size 2-3 during the day. He weighs about 18 lbs and is 29" tall.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I tried Huggies Overnites Size 3 (Toys R Us didn't have the Size 4's in stock) and he peed through them. I tried Pampers Cruisers Ultra Absorbency in Size 4 and he peed through them - but very little. I tried the Huggies Overnites in size 4 last night (I bought them at Shoprite) and he peed through those too. I guess I'll have to try the doublers in one of those diapers.
Retried the Cruisers Ultra Absorbency Size 4 and they really do work! You have to pull them higher up in the front.
Thanks for all your advice!
I use Huggies overnites. They are great! I have 3 boys and overnites save a lot of time doing laundry!!
My mother used to put on my brother's diapers backwards, and it seemed to contain everything much better. Good luck!
Hi L.,
In addition to the advice that you've gotten, I'd suggest checking your son's diaper before you go to bed. If he's already wet a few hours after being put down, a quickie diaper change in bed may alleviate the leaking later on. Disposable diapers often can't handle multiple wettings. Good luck
We had the same problem and our son sounds about the same size and actually put him in Size 4's at night. They're a little big, but they keep him from leaking through!
Ditch the Pampers Cruisers and switch to the Baby Dry. I HATED the cruisers with a passion. Good luck.
Huggies overnights!!!( not Huggies good nights) I use them for my dgtr, when regular diapers werent enough to prevent night time leaking & every AM her crib was wet. The overnights are super absorbant- no more leaking.. at all, I sear by them- they arent at all stores, not at Babies r us, but I find them at wal mart & stop & Shop. In a purple wrapper- try them you will swear by them.
I had the same problem with my son until I found the Pamper Cruiser Ultra Absorbency.....They hold the pee up to 12 to 15 hours...the only place that sells them directly is BJ's Wholesale Club.....You can find some websites that sell them too (google it)...they are more expensive than the regular cruisers but I use them at night only and the regular ones during the day.
L., try the night diapers, which are sold to address your issue. Also, it may help to go to the next size diaper, as sometimes that happens when the diaper fits too snug.
get huggies overnights
Huggies overnights! They solved our problem. I've only seen them online though.
Good luck!
Try Huggies overnights...work great!
Hey L.-
I've used huggies overnights for both my children durning the night until they were potty trained i had the same problem. Huggies overnights are made for night time and they seem to do the trick. they only come in size 4 and 5 i used the 4 even when they were in 3's and i just made the tabs tighter. Hope this helps.

Sister inlaw has two boys and swears by Huggies overnights
Huggies overnights - he sounds like a size 3 - should do the trick!
Huggies overnight diapers. They work great on my son. Hope it works for yours too!
My daughter weighs 18lbs and we just started using size 4 at night. She has stopped waking up in the middle of the night because her diaper is wet. Good luck!
Sounds like he needs to be moved to a size 4. I found out that the weight limit on diapers does not always correspond correctly and our son has always required a larger size than what he weighs. I think at the weight that your son is our son was actually wearing a size 4 diaper (he still is at 20 1/2 pounds).
Every time the diaper starts leaking or being pee'd through we know its time to move up to the next size and sure enough as soon as we do - no problems at all.
Just my thoughts for what they are worth.
I was having the same problem with my daughter and a friend suggested trying Huggies Overnights. So far they seem to be helping.
Pampers are great for girls, but I find less leaks with Huggies with my son, I think they are just more absorbant where they need to be.
I don't have too many new suggestions. My son is big and we went up a size at night and well before he hit the weight limit. I like how huggies fit him. I used diaper doublers at night. Now he is 3 and 40 pounds so I put small Goodnights on at night. Also, now that we are potty training I find pull ups absorb less than diapers (we use the "overnight" ones in the day)
Get the Huggies Overnites, and if he's close to the weight guidelines get one size bigger. It's wonderful, but if you find yourself needing more than the diaper, then get the cloth diaper covers. They look like plastic underware, and you can slip it on over the diaper. This always did the trick. Good luck.
Huggies overnight diapers have worked wonders for my son. My sister also said there is something out there (forget the name) that is like extra material that you put inside the diaper to absorb more...maybe someone else can expand on that!
We use huggies overnight diapers, they work great!
I use huggies overnights and they work wonders. My son has never leaked through the diaper and he sleeps a long time at night, 8:30-8:30. Try them, I swear by them.
To be honest the only diapers I ever had trouble with leakage with were the "good" diapers like Huggies and Pampers. I never had a problem with White CLoud or Parent's Choice from Walmart or with the BJ's brand. They cost less and work better! Go figure!
My boy is 22 lbs and 30" at 9 months and Huggies overnight brand, size 4, work wonders. It lets him sleep through the night no leaks. Good luck.
That is approximately the same weight and height as my daughter. She wears a size 4 diaper and she never has any problems with leakage in the middle of the night. So, you may want to go up one diaper size for the evenings.
i have never been happy with pampers. i use huggies and i have never had a problem with leaking.
L.,
You can try this: Turn another diaper inside-out, and pad the front with it. Either stick it all the way in (it takes a little doing), or have the tabs sticking out. A little bulky, but it works! It is also a help if you have the blowout special.
Also - you might try the cheap diapers too. I didn't have very much luck with Pampers soaking up much. BJs or BRU brands were very effective.
good luck,
M.
For a heavy wetter, go up a size at night and use Huggies Overnights. Our son is in size 3 diapers during the day and size 5 Huggies Overnights at night. He almost always stays dry. (He's 26 months, 26 pounds). Our 20 pound 1-year old is in size 3 diapers during the day and does fine with a size 4 regular diaper at night (girl). You could also try cloth, we actually have better luck with no leaking when we use cloth. At night, we use a bumGenius all in one and then 2 hemp doublers folded inside it. Does your son still have a bottle during the night? This will contribute to more wetness too (but if he's waking to eat, you should let him eat at night at this age).
I had the same problem and huggies overnite diapers work wonders they're much better then pampers.
I would go up to size 4 in pampers. My daughter was in size 3 at 3 months old because she was 18 lbs buy then. Also they have what is called diaper doublers. It looks like the old hospital maxi pads without any stickyness on the back. We had to start using these with my son when he was about 2 because they didn't make larger diapers and he was in the pampers size 7. Also I have tried just about every diaper out there and always came back to the pampers because they hold so much more than others. The only other thing we used to do with my son and have started recently with my daughter is doing a middle of the night changing. It is fairly easy for me because I am a night owl so I am up until about 1 on a regular basis. Hope this helps good luck it can be fustrating but you will find something that works for you. I
Also both my kids stay alseep through changings which makes a huge difference.

Try Huggies Overnites size 4. I had the same problems with both my children. More so my son (who is 9 1/2 months) because boys only pee in the front part of the diaper. They work very well!
Huggies overnights, or you can buy diaper doublers, they look like maxi pads and u put it in the regular diaper at night time. Both worked for my daughter.
I have to agree with Lori, I just had my first boy after 3 girls and as long as I point it down I haven't had a problem unless he is up a lot at night. Good Luck
I have a 10 month old son and was having the same issues. I use Pampers Cruisers super absorbancy. I haven't had any problems since.
My DS started doing this once he starting sleeping through the night. Try "diaper doublers". They are a maxi pad looking thing you line the diaper with before he goes to bed...about $3 for a pack of 30. I've been using them about 2 weeks and he's been a dry boy every night!
Overnight diaper AND a diaper doubler
I LOVE Huggies overnights, they have worked wonderfully!and if it is still an issue, go to one size bigger, that helps too
Huggies overnights - you'll be amazed. My son has been wearing them at night since he was your son's age - he is 2 now - and the work like a charm.
HUGGIES OVERNIGHTS!!!! They are the best!
With my daughter I used hemp cloth diapers at night with wool cover. Worked like a charm and she was a SUPER heavy wetter.
Now I am on my third baby and have gotten way lazy with doing the extra laundry that comes with cloth diapers. I use the Parents Choice diapers and have no problems. I even use them on my almost 40 lb son with type 1 diabetes (if anyone knows anything about diabetes, they know a child can wet an ocean) and the Parents Choice holds up with him as well.
Try Pampers cruiser ULTRA size FOUR at night. My son had this issue and it went away when we went up a size. We also used Huggies OVERNIGHT diapers which worked as well. They are just harder to find in stores sometimes.
I had the same problem with my Son. I would change his diaper before I went to bed (around midnight) and then I would put on plastic covers. He would still wake up soaking wet, but at least the plastic panties kept the wetness inside and didnt' leak thru to his pj's or sheets.
You can buy these at Walmart in the baby section. They look just like large underwear but they are made of rubber/plastic (there is no cloth - only plastic).
I would just throw them in the wash after. Worked great for us.
Trust me ! NOTHING ELSE worked for me - no diaper was ever good enough and I tried them all. Hope this helps. Good luck.
My son wet through at night all the time too. I SWORE by the Diaper Doublers - they look like a maxi pad you place it in the front of the diaper and it soaks up all the "extra". He will stay dry through the night. If you can't find the doublers, a REGULAR maxi pad will work (not the thin ones). They are portable and easy to use and store in his diaper bag. Good luck!
My son is 13 months now but ever since he was about your son's age he soaked through everything during the night. Toysrus had these great diaper liners but 2 months ago discontinued them YIKES!! But I have been using Huggies Overnight Diapers and most of the time they work really well. Hope this helps. I know how it is:)

Three words - point. It. Down. I didn't think of it til I was advised to do so by another friend who has sons. It helps.
Huggies Overnites are great. Our son would wake at 2am every night soaked all the way up to his chest. He'd need new jammies and sheets, which was awful. Huggies Overnites are the only thing that worked.
I have a friend who's son always leaked through his diaper at night...Believe it or not, she use to put a maxi pad in the front of the diaper...She swore by it.
I have 3 girls and found that the Pampers brand tendedd to leak more frequently than the Huggies brand (Even though they are a little more expensive).
I'd try the Maxi pad...Good Luck.
huggies overnights.. are awesome.. try them out.. they work great. good luck
I had the same issue! I found they actually make night time diapers. I think they are called Overnights. Give them a try. They worked for my sont.
HUGGIES OVERNIGHTS are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know another brand that is as good.
