Looking for others that have premiees. It would be nice to compare notes and have someone to talk too that understands what I'm going through.

What can I do next?

Hello J.,
I had 2 preemies Nov 5, 2005. My preemies were born at 32 weeks (2 months early). They stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks. I only got to stay in the hospital for 1 week. They came home right before Thanksgiving. Let's see, they were born at 3.8 17in and 3.13 16in. They had nothing physically wrong with them, except they were small. They were on oxygen and a respiator for two weeks. Once they reached 4.5 lbs, they both came home together.

Today, they are 22 lbs, walking, running, trying to put words together and very active little girls.

So,what do you need help with?

Hi J.!

I have a 3 1/2 year old who was 12 weeks early and weighed 1lb 4oz at birth. She spent 3 months in the hospital and had multiple surguries. It is a long road, but it gets easier! Please feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk.

I just had a daughter this fall at 33 weeks, we were in the NICU for 3 weeks and she is still going to have surgery next week! I am still learning about what it means to have a preemie- she is still pretty young. It sounds like from your responses that a lot of the other moms have more experience, I am on the other end with alomost none!

Hi J.!

My son is now 2 1/2 years old. He was born at 32 weeks, emergency c-section. He was in the hospital for 15 days, had to get RSV shots for almost a year, and monthly doctor visits, but now he is very very active, a little smarty-pants, smarter than the average bear...and right in line with his growth!

Hi J.,

My two youngest sons are twin premies. They were born just over 2 months early and spent the first 2 1/2months of thier lives in the NICU. We went through a slew of problems ranging from simple reflux to PPHN, RSV, and sleep apnea.

Thankfully they are now 2 years old and getting stronger everyday. We still have some small hurdles to cross, but nothing compared to what we've survived.

I think my boys are perfect!!! Write me back if you want to talk.

We had a premiee. She was born 6 weeks early and is 13 months now. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks. Which felt like 3 years. She is doing good now. But that was a very scary time. How is your son doing now? Feel free to email me at ____@____.com

Good Morning J.,
My son (who is almost 4) was born 6 weeks premature. It's not quite the premature you have, but he was still pretty early. He didn't have a whole lot of complications. The doctors told me he wouldn't develop on time. He didn everything on time. He walks, talks, and plays just like a normal full term baby. Let me know if you want to chat. :)

my son was born at 33 weeks. he wasnt as early as your child but he was still early. He had to stay in the hospital for a week and a 1/2. He is really big now. He's in the 75th percentile for weight and the 50th for height. they catch up fast!!
