Hi there,

I currently own a Saturn Vue and now that we are adding a third carseat to our car, I need to upgrade. I am considering mini-vans, but would like to research the Outlook with Captain Seats. For those of you who have one, can I get 2 Britax in the third row and one in a captains seat???? How do you like it so far????

Thanks in advance!

So What Happened?

Well, looks like my husband is putting me on a tighter budget. I now need to find a used vehicle under 20K. I want a SUV exterior but a mini van interior. Let the search begin! Thanks for your advice. The Outlook is still on the horizon!!!!

I have a Saturn Outlook with the captain seats. The 3rd row is quite roomy. I've had 2 kids (1 booster seat) and an adult sit in back. I love my Outlook and no problems so far (bought in 2007)!

Good luck with your new purchase!

I have an Outlook and LOVE IT!!! Mine has the bench seat in the second row though (and I do put two car seats there, easily, with enough space for an adult in between)... I am also able to put two car seats in the third row with no problem so, I can only assume you would be able to do the same as long as the model with the captain's seats has equal third-row space.... I am not sure of a car seat in the captain's seat, not sure if there would be arm-rest issues....

Good luck!!

I received my Saturn Outlook for Mother's Day 2 years ago and I love it! At the time I was a mother of 1 now 2 and we use the Britax on the second row. I wanted two bench rows because I felt the third row was too far if something happens to the little ones while I am driving.

I am not sure about the captain chairs but take your car seat to the dealership or sign up to keep the car for the weekend. The crossover drives like a car and gets 20 mpg. I use to get more until I let them do some kind of update then I lost 3 mpg.

I don't think you are going to have any problems with the 3 carseats since we have had our two kids and their cousin all on the second row at one time (2 yr/4 mos./2mos. carseats).

Congrats on the new blessing!

Please do not put your 4yr old in a booster as another posted said. Keep your 4yr old harnessed. There is the Graco Nautilus for $170 when your child reaches 65lbs or outgrows the harness by height the Nautilus will convert to High back booster. IF you need to get three across you may want to try the Chicco Key fit $180. It goes to 32lbs.It will last most babies to 2years of age. ALso the Key fit will fit new bornes very well. Its also the most narrowest car seats on the market right now. There is also the Britax Charperon $230. Its new to the market. The seat goes to 32lbs. I also hope you still have your 1yr 3mo old rear facing. You said you have a britax seat which will rearface for 35lbs maybe 33lbs depending on what year your britax is. I have not owned a Vue. I did just go from Honda Pilot to Honda Oddyssey with 2 kids and I am loving the mini van life. It is very roomy, I love the sliding doors. No more telling my older child to be careful of the car next to her. I also find it alot easier to get to the 3rd row to buckel up the 5yr old child I watch, who is riding in Graco Nautilus in harness mode. Visit Car-seat.org. you do not need a account to ask questions. there you can ask which car seats would work best in the Vue. There are car seat techs on the website along with non techs but still know alot about carseats. Good luck and congrats

You could do that or you could put 2 in the Captain's chair and one in the back. Is your Son over 40 lbs? He could be in a booster seat. But I bought our Outlook so we could have space for more people. It's great for when the grand parents come to visit - we only have to take one car.

I'm not sure about Saturns but if you dont find any comfort in those maybe you should look at the Nissan Armada. Thats what I have - not good on gas mileage but when you need the room there aren't really any large vehicles that are going to be good on gas. I have 20 month old twins, a 15 year old, an 8 year old and a 10 year old and we have plenty of room in the Armada.
