Anyone Else Develop Little Red Spots on Your Skin Since Having Babies?

Since being pregnant with my first, and now having had my second baby, I have developed quite a few red spots, called cherry angiomas, on my skin. They don't seem to discriminate as to where they appear...I have some on my face, a lot on my chest and torso, some on my arms, and a couple on my legs. I never had these until I became pregnant. I really want to have the ones on my faced removed, but I am told this can only be done using a laser. Anyone else experience this and/or have had them removed? It's so frustrating!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks, everyone, for all of your responses! Good to know I'm not alone. I hate all the changes that happen to your body after being pregnant, this especially! I associate red spots like this with "older" people, if you know what I mean. I usually see old men with these on their backs and torsos at the pool. Ugh! I will probably be looking into having them lasered off soon. Hopefully it won't cost too much! I'll keep you posted on what I find out!

My son is fixing to be 8 months old and I have noticed these spots on my chest. There are quite a few of them and I have heard if you want them removed they will have to be removed by laser. I am thinking about that myself! Good luck!

I developed similar "skin tags" while I was pregnant and even some since (5 yrs later). I was told it's just what happens sometimes when you're pregnant. Blame it on the hormones. One lady told me to just clip the off with fingernail clippers. NOT!!! I would opt for the laser treatment, for sure. Mine are all on my neck, so I've just let them be. Good luck!

Hey -
I have some similar stuff. Some of those red spots and then some things (I forget the name) where it was just kind of extra skin on top of my regular skin. I got all of these when I was pregnant with my son (he is 5 now). Over the years, some of the extra skin things have just peeled off (on my chest/stomach). But I did use a laser for the one red spot on my face. I went to a dermatologist to get it done. And, just forewarning, it hurt. It wasn't unbearable, but it definitely stung. But, you can't tell it was there at all now. I love that I had it removed.

When I became pregnant with my 2nd child,I was dreading the skin problems. But, none of them occurred this time!

B.,
I just went to my dermatologist today and she said that they are hereditary(sp?). I think they can be removed, like you said with a laser. I have to many to count. I think it would be very expensive to have done. So far a majority of mine are on my stomach. If you find out a cheap way to remove then let me know would be one of the first in line....:).

Yes, I have them everywhere. I even had one near/in the corner of my eye lid. Yes, you can have them removed. I had the ones on my face and neck removed via laser from a cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Lynne Roberts - http://www.lynnerobertsmd.com/

It was pain free and relatively inexpensive.

Hope this helps,

Just an FYI -- "Skin tags" and Cherry Angiomas are NOT the same thing! Skin tags are just what the name implies -- small tags of skin that protrude from the body. Skin tags are generally where something rubs -- neck, under breast, etc. Cherry Angiomas are the red dot/bumps that are slightly raised and generally small. Skin tags are removed by clipping. Cherry Antiomas are removed via laser. I know, I have them both and I have dermatologists that remove them using the method most appropriate.

Yes! I got them too...mainly on my chest and the back of my arms. I heard that lasers are the only way to get rid of them.

Also, for your other post...get a CD of kids songs...mine likes to listen to songs in the car. Not all the time, but when he is mad it calms him down.
