My daughter is now 11 years old and I noticed her sudden growth spurt at the age of 8 months. She has always been the biggest person in her class. She matured so fast that I was in shock every month. She began having her menstruation at the age of 9 and then she stopped growing. She's now 5'6", wears size 10/11 clothes and size 11 shoe. She was tested at the age of 6 and the doctors said there isn't anything to worry about. Their main concern was about her menstruating too early (before 9 years of age). If she had they would have stopped it because mentally she was not ready to handle it. She is doing fine, except for children teasing her about her size. I always encourage her and make her feel comfortable and confident with her size and to ignore what people say. My advice would be to keep talking to her and help her to feel comfortable with her body and the changes.
