O.O.
Pine is a very, very soft wood.
I've known people with large dogs that have scratched their floors--permanently. Just something to consider.
Interested in getting pine flooring. If you have it for know anything about it, I'd love to know more. Costs? Upkeep? Are you happy with it or not and why? Thank you in advance for your input!

I have them and I love the look!!!! There is cleaning solution specifically for real wood floors in the hardware store. Always sweep and mop with the grain.
You must keep a large throw on all pathways because they will wear down very easy.
If you love the smell of pine, you will love your first year or two.
I once resanded and restained about 1000 feet of oak. It looked so good and was like new. The realtor even featured the living room in the ad because it really stood out.
Right now dark distressed/scraped hardwood is the in thing here. People complain about it looking dusty and dirty.
You can get a sample and set it down. I am trying out luxury vinyl right now for a rental. I like real wood.
My neighbor put bamboo floors down. He loves them and they look new five years later.
I have pine floors in my bedrooms. The wood is soft and easily scratched and stained from spills. They would not hold up in a high traffic area. My living room has hardwood floors. A realtor told me that hardwood flooring adds value to the house. And it is common to have pine in bedrooms and hardwood in living room.
I suggest you talk with someone who installs floors and refinishes them to learn the pros and cons of various woods.
