Hi H.,yes your doctor is giving you the worst scenario so you will be prepared for anything.It is almost like when you sign any consent before surgery,have you read the stuff in the consent that talks about what can happen to you during surgery!!!!!well how rare is that.I haven't had placenta previa myself but have been taking care of so many patients with complete previa and luckly nobody had to have hystrectomy.If this was your 3rd c.section when you have previous scar on your uterus then there is a very rare condition when placenta tissue grows inside the scars making it hard to be removed causing sever bleeding that is life threatening then to save life hysterectomy is performed.Hope this will help you relax for the rest of your pregnancy and good luck.
