It took me 7 yrs between my first child and my second while I struggled with endo. I also had some laproscopies, used lupron, I dealt with about 3 miscarriages as well, but did end up with 3 kids, the last child only took 2 yrs
I just wanted to know how many moms were able to get pregnant after being diagnosed with endometriosis. I also would like to know how much effort it took to get pregnant. I am hoping there are more easy success stories than sad stories, but I don't know much about this matter. Thank you so much in advance for sharing your personal stories! It is greatly appreciated!
Thank you mommas!! You really made my day. I do not have a confirmed case of endometriosis yet as they have not done the laparoscopic surgery to find out, but with all my symptoms and so far about $1000 worth of medical tests (after insurance!!), we are fairly certain that is the answer. I am going back to my doctor in October to talk more about our options. I was starting to feel a bit blue due to the fact that I have always wanted a large family, 4-5 kids, and everything I read talked about all the complications and horrible tales of infertility. It seems that many women can still get pregnant without much intervention if any at all. I do have one baby who is 17 months now (who I am so in love with and very grateful for), but we have been trying for several months for a second and my baby fever continues to get worse and worse as the months go on. I guess we will just have to wait a little longer and try to just have fun trying!! Thanks again, mommas! You really saved my day!

soon after finding out i have endometriosis i began invitro process. i didn't want to wait, esp. after being told mine was a bad case of endo. had the surgery, and then did invitro.
i got pregnant with the first try.
i have since been on birth control to 'control' the pain, and have been doing great 5+ years.
good luck
My friend had endometriosis and then had a surprise pregnancy, that turned out wonderfully. Good luck!
Hi there. I had endometriosis for years. Unfortunately the best times for me to get pregnant were when I had the most pain. I also had another factor working against me; I was 40 when we were trying to get pregnant. I resolved that it wasn't in my hands, and if it happened, it happened... we weren't going to go through any processes to get pregnant. It took over a year of trying but I finally got pregnant. We have a beautiful three year old daughter. I eventually had to have a hysterectomy so I realize what an absolute miracle she is.
I wish you the best of luck. It can happen!!
I have endometrioses and it took a few months but I got pregnant with no complications. The key (so I have heard) is to have your pregnancies close together. Especially if your doctor goes in and clears out the endometrioses after birth. Your cycle is a big part of the growth of endometrioses so if your pregnant for 9 months then nurse for a few months (usually none to very light cycles while nursing) it stops and delays the growth. So you want to try to have the bebe's before it can grow back. I personally don't want my children that close in age so I am not taking my own advice. ;-) Good luck!
I had stage 4 endo and had 2 kids but it took 2 years to get my first and just under 1 year to get my second. What ever you do never go on clomid or any other drug to help you ovulate if you ovulate on your own already as it will make your endo worse.. Both times I had laperscopic surgery to scrap my uterus and the outside areas and flush my tubes and a D&C and hysterscopy then 6 months of lupron injections then months of trying & charting etc... before finally getting pregnant. Last year I had a hysterectomy at age 28 and it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck to you.
I had surgery for endometriosis twice when I was in my early twenties. I've had four successful pregnancies since, with absolutely no problems getting pregnant. If I had it to do over I would have avoided the surgeries, and looked for alternative natural treatments. There are fantastic herbal remedies that can help with endometriosis and infertility issues. I hope this helps. Best wishes!

I had surgery when I was 25. They found stage 3 endometriosis and a grapefruit size dermoidteratoma (cyst) taking over my right ovary. I lost all of my right ovary and 2/3 of my left ovary. I got pregnant the first month trying when I was 29. I got pregnant the 2nd time, age 32 in 5 months. I used birthcontrol starting at age 15 due to extreme cramping and heavy periods. I only stopped the bc when trying or pregnant. My husband and I were already checking into adoption, fostering, serogate ect since we didn't think we would ever have the chance to birth a child. The 2 times I quit the pill it was more of a well were married, lets quit. Why spend the money when its not doing anything.....
I have two blessings. Don't look or worry yourself to get pregnant. Spend time with children other ways. If its meant to be it will.

My friend was diagnosed with endometriosis at 19. She was told that she would have a very hard time conceiving. She now has had 4 (good pregnancies) with 4 healthy boys. She got pregnant each time with no problems. Good luck!.
I have it and have had four successful pregnancies. I had a great Doc.
I know one woman who had a positive diagnosis with endometriosis, and told she would not have children (she had been married for some time w/o being able to successfully conceive, which is why she got diagnosed). Some time after that, she got pregnant, then had a miscarriage, then several months later, she got pregnant and had the first of her 5 children, with no apparent problems getting pregnant after that.
I've had MANY friends with endometriosis, all of them with successful pregnancies. It seems most of them had more trouble than a woman without it getting pregnant, and most have had complicated pregnancies and ongoing issues afterward. A few have used IVF or adopted embryos and had them artificially implanted. Many have had some sort of reparation surgery later however.
It seems like there's a great rate of success for successful term pregnancies among with women with endometriosis - both those I know and those who have responded. I believe alot of your chances for success may lie in finding the right Dr. GOOD LUCK!!! :)
I adopted! And it was just as incredible and exciting as giving birth. So while I wasn't able to get pregnant again (I had one child already) I think my story isn't sad because it ended up just the way it was supposed to.
