Anyone Have VAD After C-section with First Due to Breech?

I had a VBAC in May. It is definitely possible and totally worth it. Do NOT listen to your health care provider if they tell you you can't do it. And don't back down. My second was three weeks late and they told me they weren't going to let me try a VBAC.. of course they wanted to induce. I did eventually induce with the foley balloon (no drugs) and was in labor a long, long time, but it was definitely worth it. I had a happy healthy 8lbs. 12 oz. girl.

Your chances are slim unless you are with a provider that truly believes in VBACS. If it is something you are interested in, I'd go looking for a provider with a high VBAC success rate.

The provider is the most important determinant in deciding the kind of delivery you have.

I had a C with my second because he was breech and I have been told that the possibility of having a VBAC for a third is very likely (esp since I had my first son vaginally with no issues). You may want to see if you can hook up with the ICAN network in your area for some support/suggestions

I did, and it was amazing.
With my first I had a C-cescion, to be honest I still don't know what to believe about the rezons my doctor gave me (I never have not even one contraction, my water broke when I went to see my doctor just to check up and they rush me into).
Anyway, I hate it, my baby was so fast rush out of the room so they could "close" me and I can barely remember her face when I saw her for first time. Then I was all drug out and fall sleep after my baby born and wake up I believe around 2 hours!
Even when I wake up I was still feeling goofy.
With my second baby, I found a doc that will agree to at least TRY, I knew there could be possibilities to need a second C-section but I wanted to at least try.
My second baby was a very easy labor, I got to the hospital walking and in a couple hours I had my baby in my arms.
It was amazing.
My husband was the whole time with me, when my baby born I hold her in my arms and try to breast feed, then my husband hold her (he didn't want to cut the cord, I am surprise he didn't pass out, lol).
I could count her little fingers and toes, make fun of her cone head, take pictures, etc.
Recovery was a LOT more faster.
So my advice, go for.
There is always a possibility that you would need a c-section but having a VBAC is very wort the try.

My 1st daughter was also breeched and I had a c-section..my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lol were all vaginal births..Success!! I prefer a vaginal over c-section anytime..you heal faster and get to bond with your baby faster..good luck and don't be afraid you will do great ; )

I had a VBAC in March and would highly recommend attempting one. I had a c-section with my first. My water broke suddenly when I was 36 weeks, got to the hospital and (surprise!) he was breech. I had a long, hard recovery and knew right away I wanted to attempt a VBAC with any other pregnancies. I got pregnant again when my first was 18 months old. I had a supportive midwife and OB and went into labor naturally 9 days before my due date. I had about 24 hours of contractions that weren't painful, then they were painful and my water broke soon after...got to the hospital, got an epidural at 6cm, and my baby was born a few hours later after an episiotomy and vacuum extraction. He was big (8lb7oz) and got a bit stuck. So, it was a long process that had interventions, but I still felt like a million bucks afterwards compared to how I felt after the c-section. I know not everyone feels so lowsy after a c-section, but I certainly did. Breastfeeding was so much easier after the vaginal delivery too. In both my deliveries, my babies were thankfully just fine with no issues, but what a difference for me. VBAC all the way! Good luck!

I had my first about 15 yrs ago via c-section because she was breech. Then I went on to have 5 VBACs with no complications afterwards and am currently looking forward to having my 6th VBAC any day. There is always a chance that your baby #2 will be breech too, but there are other options you can try before the c-section. I have been in this situation the last couple of days with a transverse baby, but was able to successfully have an external version (turning the baby to head down). You need to have, like one of the other posters said, a very supportive doctor, but you also need to know what you are getting yourself into and be informed about the situation.
