My oldest son was just over a year old when we had his done. We was sent to childrens mercy. Good luck.
How young can you have allergy testing done?
Thanks for all the advice. I had both my girls tested. My oldest was 2 and my littlest was 6 months. They couldn't do all the testing and we've gone back twice for additional tests, but I'm glad we did. My baby is allergic to SO much! Thanks again for the advice.

My siter was about a year old when they done the exstensive allergy test on her. This was many years ago though so I am not sure on the age now.
If your newborn is showing signs of allergies, most drs will deny it and refuse any testing. Reducing the number of triggers may improve symptoms but not necessarily "cure" it. Let me know if I can be of further assistance - ____@____.com
Hi I'm not sure where you live, but in my area of Kansas, our allergist did the simple testing at around age 2, and the skin testing not until the age of 5. We live in the town of maples and wouldn't you know that is one of the things my daughter is allergic to! She is on 4 different allergy/asthma meds daily and is doing great. I would just advise you don't go to your family dr for this stuff, see a specialist! Hope this helps!
They did an allergy test on my son at about 7 months or so. They just did the blood test. It is sometimes not as accurate as the scratch test, but it worked well enough just to let us know that it was just seasonal and that he wasn't allergic to the 13 or so things they tested for. The worst part is just them drawing the blood, but it is over quickly!
Hello S., (update to my earlier post)
I believe the earliest they will do an allergy test is one year unless it is a medical emergency. They should do an allergy test on your 23 month old if she is showing signs of allergies. If your doctor won't, go to another doctor. I took care of a child that had tests done at about 13 months to find out if he was allergic to cats. Turns out he was allergic to alot of different common allergens, mold, dust, and a few others. They also make a singulair granules for children as young as 6 months that they can prescribe that work very well. You just mix them in applesauce or something like that.
Good luck,
Michelle
