Hi, I'm interested in signing my two year old up for a gymboree type class or maybe gymnastics at Patti's on Route 30. We already tried the Gymboree chain in Dyer that's across the street and I'm not that happy with it. If anyone's been to Patti's, I'd appreciate hearing about your child's experience. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Love it! My daughter was there for two years of Gym and Learn. We also do every Kids Night Out and now that my daughter is enrolled in Kindergarden in Chicago, we take her there on Tuesday and Fridays for gymnastics. When Lidija was in Gym and Learn, she learned how to do basic gymnastic skills. She could do a one handed cartwheel and also, a cartwheel off of a balance beam. My daughter, while BEAUTIFUL, is not exactly the body type for a gymnast. So, it is not like she is a natural! It took some work. Initially, she was afraid of the balance beam. Now she LOVES it!
I LOVE the place! I love the teachers! I wish I had those experiences when I was a child.
Also, for gymnastics, the kids can wear any leotard. I bought mine a Target. The shoes are around $12.00, but my daughter has been in them for a year now. When my daughter was in gym and learn 3 times a week, she wore Target sweats and T shirts. nothing expensive!
I love it and I say GO!
let me add, before my daughter went there, I was paying BIG $$$ for her to go to a north shore, french playgroup for two years. It was SHIT. She hated it and I was too stupid to realize it. I thought she was just being needy. The first day a Patti's she was jumping up and down and told me that I could leave! She was never needy, she just hated that class! She loved Patti's and I love that she loves it! GO!!!!!

My girfriends daughter has gone there in the past and has loved it. She is alittle older now but she asks her mom all the time if she can go back? I have a two year old boy with lots of energy and I was going look into there toddler classes. The one complaint for friend had was that it was alittle expensive.

I love it there, this is our second year, My daughter and I last year were in the mommy and me dancing gym bears 2-3 year olds

It was 30 minutes of Gymnastics and 30 of ballet The gymnastics teacher was great and in Feb they had a little olympics where the whole family can come and watch and then we did the recital in June.

They also let you do a trial class for free to see if you like it.

I took gymnastics at Patty's a lonnnggg time ago (we're talking over 20 years).

I have very fond memories of my time at Patty's. I am have heard from friends who still live in the area that it is still a great place to take gymnastics.

my daughter has been going to patti's now for 2 years, we are still in the mommy and me type classes. we have done the gymnastics and the swimming program. we both love it! the teachers are wonderful. every 2 weeks the 'look' of the gym is changed, things are added or removed. you do not have to wear a uniform just comfortable clothes. there is no (adult) street shoes allowed so parents wear socks and kids can wear gymnastics shoes ($18) or their own shoes.

I was just going to ask the same question. The only information I have heard is that it is quite expensive with a high registration, you must wear their uniform which is 70-80, plus the cost of the class. I am interested to hear what moms will say, I would love to have my 23 month old in dance. We do go to Gymboree and she loves it. Do you go to the morning or evening classes? Only reason I am asking is that I have gone to both and love the daytime "teacher" it is night and day literally going in the morning as opposed to evening.

We were at Patti's for the last 4 years. My oldest 2 daughters took gymnastics and dance there and my youngest 2 take gymnastics. It is a good place when the kids are little and you can be in class with them. They are a bit pricey-for the gymnastics class you do not have to buy anything special-your daughter can wear gym shoes instead of the gymnastics shoes. When it comes to the dance classes you have to buy their stuff and it does get costly especially around recital time. I still have my youngest 2 over there at pattis b/c I havent found another place I like that offers what they do. I took my older 2 out of there b/c they have had a lot of recent changes to the staff and I was concerned about the safety of my girls. Also, they had been there for 4 years and still could not do a cartwheel-within one time of them going to their new place they were shown the "proper" way to do things. My older ones were wanting to do more things(backflips and things like that)-one of their best teachers left and so did we. There are a lot of younger kids working there so you just have to try a class/teacher and see how it goes. For recreation it is a good place to be, but once your daughter gets big enough to decide if she likes gymnastics or not-I dont think it is the best place(at least it wasnt for us-and I have heard a lot of other people talking the same way). Some of the really good teachers are Mrs. Rhonda, Mrs. Diane, Mrs. Kelly and Nicole Garza. They have been there for a VERY long time-it is their career-not just something to do inbetween college classes. They do also have a super good preschool program. Sorry to ramble-I would do a trial class and see how that goes. You can email me if you have any questions or anything like that.
