Anyone Looking Forward to Christmas Yet?

Just saw a show that was taped during Christmas (last year...you know how they are taped in advance) and
it made me get a little excited for the holidays?
Anyone else?
Am enjoying the nice weather but I like the decorations, making cookies, fires in the fireplace, a trip to the snow (only once though
lol), buying the perfect gift for my favorite people.

What can I do next?

I've been told I need to emigrate to Australia; as I start singing carols in July & August. I don't tend to sing them in the winter, but middle of summer? Absolutely.

Oh silverbells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say, throw cares away!

LOL! I think about Christmas all year long :) I just took advantage of a Christmas in July sale at the local GoodWills and scored a 9 ft christmas tree for $15. I stocked up on gift bags, outdoor decorations, and some little knic knaks for my daughters school fundraiser activity. LOVE IT.

Ha! I was at market about a month ago surrounded by Christmas.. I always end up covered in Glitter!

It was a last minute trip so that we can order some items for our clients. We decorate homes for the holidays.. A few of them like them to be decorated in November so when they come back from Thanksgiving, the house is ready for Christmas..

Glad to know even though it is 106 today to hear there are others out there already thinking about Christmas..

And I thought I was the only one! My teen commented on Sunday that it was beginning to feel like 'Christmas' already. Fine with me. I have a 'Countdown to Christmas' on my refrigerator up all year. Every year after Christmas, I take the next year's calendar (I make sure I get one for Christmas!) and start writing the countdown on each day. Yup. I love Christmas that much! (Ps. I don't live where it snows.)

Look forward to it all year long. I try to work on Christmas a little here and a little there all year long....soooo when the holiday actually comes then I can enjoy and embrace the season with my family and friends without the hectic frenzy. We have already talked as a family about which 3 families we will adopt to do the "12 days of Christmas" for and the kids are super excited. It is such a fun, magical and rejoicing time of year..wish it lasted longer.

We even heat our pool for Christmas morning..such a fun tradition! Can't wait!!

Christmas? Bite your tongue!
I live on the other end of California where the weather sucks and I feel we've barely had a summer.
The sun finally came out today after days and days of fog and drizzle.
I am not ready for winter or anything that goes along with it.
Not in the slightest.
My birthday is in December too. I'm in no hurry to be another year older.

:)

I love Christmas. I'll be back in Australia for it. But this year will be different. Our first Christmas without my Daddy. I don't know how it will pan out. I'd really like to take the whole extended family and have Christmas on a couple of yachts in the tropical Whitsunday islands. My father had always planned to do this, but he died before it eventuated.

Oh no!! Christmas can't poke it's little head in my house until after December 1st and all evidence of it needs to be removed by December 26th!! People are too crazy and stressed, it drives me bonkers. I would prefer to travel to a low key country and avoid most of it.

Okay, this is so funny because like literally 5 minutes ago I got on Amazon and saw that Debbie Macomber's new Christmas novel comes out in September. I immediately put it on my Kindle Wish List! Haha! I am such a HUGE sucker for both made for TV Christmas movies (which are often based on Debbie Macomber books no less!;) and books. I am getting excited for fall and Halloween too, but I did have Christmas on the brain tonight!

I am, but I'm not.......

I love the holidays. But ever since my husband and I have had the kids, our family's have made it pretty stressful for me! I feel like once you're an adult with kids and a spouse, you should spend christmas at home. Let your kids enjoy the day, their new gifts. Start traditions with them etc. But our moms still feel like we should come to both their houses that day! UGH!!

A few years ago I started splitting it where we host my family christmas eve. But my mom's not thrilled about it. And then we still have to go spend HOURS at his moms. She really drags things out too.

I am happy to have family don't get me wrong. But I think "extended" family you should celebrate with on other days, actually make it a christmas "season" lol

But otherwise, I love shopping and planning for my kids, decorating the house and the tree. But in Ohio, the snow looms on FOREVER and I HATE HATE HATE cold weather. So that part for me, stinks lol

Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday!! I think that when it gets close to kids going back to school, my thoughts just automatically start thinking about fall and all the holidays coming up. It always make me happy!!

I know exactly what you mean. I am also enjoying the nice weather and having fun this summer (being in SoCal) but I was moving things around in the closet a couple of days ago and ran across some Christmas decorations and it just brought back a longing for Christmas. I even told my mom that I will do Christmas dinner this year. I get excited from the end of September all the way through New Years. Another poster mentioned shopping for Christmas already and frankly that's a good idea with all of the end of season sales going on. Good Tidings to you! :)

Man... I'm with you SH... I'm still trying to get through back to school shopping! I'm more of a last-minute type of person. I don't even think about that kind of stuff until at least November.

Not at all excited... I live in the Northeast and it is ridiculously dark here that time of year. We basically have 8 hours of daylight in November and December and I find it depressing. Add to that the pressure of shopping, spending money, and preparing the house and I am done. I want to make it special for my kids but aside from the usual prep and the little traditions we do have, like shopping for a tree and decorating it, I'd rather just fast forward from Thanksgiving right into Valentine's Day. Either that or hibernate!

Yes! I love everything about christmas. Last year my kids were too little to open presents this year they will be old enough to tear the paper off their gifts. I cant wait! We actually celebrate christmas twice in my family, once on dec 25, and again on jan 7 ( we are Orthodox, and Orthodox xmas isnt until Jan 7)

Not necessarily looking forward to Christmas, but, definitely looking forward to the weather it brings. I'm in Texas and we're going on almost 40+ days of triple-digit weather. I'm a Texas native and it's nothing new to me, but, even I am sick of this!
