S.A.
it's been awhile, but we catered our son's first birthday with the costco sandwich trays. they were yummy! we had croissant trays and the wraps. they were both so good, I highly recommend them. Their cakes are very good too.
I was going to order the sandwich tray from costco and was very impressed with the price but I was wondering how the sandwiches tasted?
My son is having his high school friends over for a grad party. Anyone have luck with the costco appetizers or any of their foods for a party? anyone had the fruit or veggie trays or cakes? looking for recommendations!
thanks.. party is this sunday!
Hi Moms,
thanks so much for your helpful advice! The croissant sandwich tray worked out very nicely. I took the pieces off costco's plastic tray and put them on my own large white ceramic platter. They looked a bit nicer that way. I also put a tooth pick in them to help keep the section together. I liked the mayo sauces that came with the sandwiches. The cake was decorated really nicely for my son's graduation. It tasted good too. Not many kids ate it though becuz we had a make your own sundae bar but it still was nice to have it on the table.. looked really nice. I bought their veggie tray and put it on my own platter too. I didn't care for the peppercorn ranch dip that came with it and made the hidden valley ranch one from the packet. It tasted better and was eaten by everyone.

Yes, I have ordered the croissant sandwiches several times. Everyone seems to really enjoy them! And Costco gives you two different types of mayo (pesto mayo and something else I can't remember) with the sandwiches, so all you really need to put out is some mustard. We always end-up with leftovers, and these sandwiches last for days. I also love the sandwich roll-ups, but find them a bit more expensive.
I also buy the cut-up fruit tray from Costco as well. I have only had one problem with the cantelope one time and couldn't serve it (but served all the other fruit). However, I bought it in the winter (when fruit isn't in season). Otherwise, the fruit has always been excellent.
The Costco's veggie trays are excellent too.
One other idea: sometimes Costco has different types of cheeses in blocks, in case you want to make a cheese platter with crackers.
It's pretty good, I think it's worth it...I've had them at graduation parties and ordered them for birthday parties and showers. I've always been happy with it.
I've had the pinwheel sandwiches and lots of the bakery items and they are all GREAT!!!
I can vouch for the cakes. They are very good and always a crowd pleaser. Highly recommend them!
We had them for my daughters 1st b-day and loved them!
The cakes rock! Not too much overly sweet frosting---just the right amount...and for $17 you can't beat it!
I'm going to order this for an event. I called the Niles, IL location and spoke with somone who faxed me an order sheet. Turkey and Swiss roll $29.99 serves 20-24 and sandwich platter (I think this is the croissant shandwiches) serves 16-20 also $29.99. I also order whole cooked pizzas which she took my order over the phone and I requested to have it cut up in squares 3 types (cheese, Pepperoni, combo) feeds 5 adults for $11.00. Hopefully this will all feed at least 80-100 people all under $200 bucks!
