Haven't tried the diet but did try drinking the juice because it was supposed to do all kinds of wonderful things for me. I couldn't tell any difference.
Ok I'm seeing lots of advertisements for the diet where you get free products including the Acai Berry stuff and the Colon Cleanse stuff. I'm pretty skeptical about stuff but this one actually kinda makes sense and has been featured on a lot of national stuff like Oprah, Dr Oz, CNN. So I'm getting very curious about it. Have any of you tried it? Did it work or is it just a ploy? And do you know about the safety of it while breastfeeding? Please share any experiences you have, good or bad. Thanks in advance!!

Thanks everyone for all the feedback!! I really got the response I expected. I'm not going to order the products. I'm convinced now that the entire thing was a scam. I'll go to GNC instead and check out some ideas. Thanks again!!

I went on this diet last month. The Colon Cleanse pill works wonderfully and so does the Acai Noni pill. The only problem I've had is that I did not start out taking a vitamin supplement and my magnesium got depleted. I ended up in the emergency room with Bells Palsy type symptoms, but after further investigation, I had all the symptoms of magnesium deficiency (the blood tests confirmed this immediately). After a bag of magnesium sulfate, I've slowly regained my facial control and all. I'm still really tired though. So be careful. I lost 20 lbs. last month on the diet, so it really does work. Just be very careful. The facial paralysis began about 8 days into the diet, so I may have had depleted magnesium before I started.
I didn't get diarrhea, just a bulkier bowel movement. The ingredients in the Colon Cleanse are Cascara Sagrada, Hawthorn something or another, and a few herbs you can get at the health food store. They are selling the combination of herbs to you. It puts more fiber in your diet. If you go talk to your local health store person, they should be able to give you a list of herbs that can help cleanse your colon for a lot less than this pill. The cleansing of the colon removes several pounds of waste that just sits around anyway. So the weight you lose originally is just fecal matter.
Part of the program also, you need to drink lots of water.
The Acai Noni pill does help curb your appetite. You need to drink water, etc, to help the process.
I didn't consult a doctor or anything before I started, so that may be a good idea. Get a blood test done before you start to see if you are lacking in anything and go from there.
Oh, and they give you 15 days from the date the order is shipped to cancel. They send a little notice with the pills to let you know this. You can e-mail or call them. I did both. They even sent e-mail confirmation about the cancellation. I didn't have any problems cancelling.
The pills cost about $80 a month if you don't cancel. When I saw the monthly price, I cancelled immediately.
By the way, I've went back on the rest of my bottle of pills until I finish it off, along with magnesium supplements and a multi-vitamin. I'm still doing good on it, with the doctor monitoring me.
Do NOT order online ... it's a scam, and was featured on our local news (or maybe it was national, I don't remember). They give you 14 days to cancel FROM THE DAY THEY SHIP IT, and it's impossible to get a refund once they have charged you. They then put you on a monthly order list, and getting off that can take a few months, and a few hundred dollars. According to the news story, it is NOT endorsed by Oprah or anyone else, they just make it sound like it is, and I don't remember now if it even works (doubtful since it's such a scam). Good luck ... with some other way!!!
My baby is 5mos old too... I know how you feel about wanting to lose that baby weight. I wouldn't try any fad diet like that while breast feeding. That is going to go straight to baby and you want his diet to be well rounded. I don't believe it works anyway. I do see the benefits of the berry itself but I do not think any diet revolving any one food type or product is the way to go with weight loss. I think the juice would be a good supplement to get the minerals it offers if you aren't getting it elsewhere. They sell juices with that berry in the grocery stores now though so no need to spend a fortune ordering.
I would just focus on eating right and getting as much exercise as you can (difficult I know when caring for baby and toddlers). Something I do with my 4yr old is I am teaching him how to exercise so we do it together. He thinks it is fun. You could use the baby and your 2yr old as your "freeweights" Put your 2yr old on your legs to do leg lifts or use the baby as a weight to work the arms/chest/back. Kids can be little helpers on accident :o)
I know it seems that some people have great results from it, but i had a girlfriend try it and it didn't work for her and when she tried to cancel it they took money out of her account 3 more times before she finally got it cancelled.
I have 2 magazines I love to read "All You" because its all reader and panel memember based. You can even get on a reader panel and test products. They have a diet plan and had a diet challenge last year.
I also like "First" magazine, there emplyees test a lot of things out there so you know if real people had real results before you try something. I have gotten some great ideas from here.
Somethings are trial and error because what works for one person may not work for another because your reasons for being heavy may not be the same.
If you have a lot of stress in your life its almost impossible to loose weight. For you the best bet would be to work on things to relax you like Yoga or pilati's. Something not stressfull and start out slow so you don't stress your body.
I hope some of this helps
Have a great day

I went to the gnc store and got a bottle of the acai berry drink you take 2 tbls once a day. I take them at noon i started last saturday. I took it sat, sun, mon, and tues it kicked in and wed morn i weighed and i lost 2 lbs. It doesnt taste that great but i guess it working. I seen an article and they said the one with green tea in it work better so thats what i got. So try that before you order off the computer i dont trust it they might hit you with membership fees and they dont let you know. Keep in touch let me know which one you get and how it works.
yes, I ordered the supposedly "free" trial of Acai Supreme and I didn't see any difference in my body or the way I felt. I will warn you that you have 15 days from the day it shipped to call and cancel or you will be charged almost $90 for the bottle and then signed up for monthly shipments. I thought the 15 days was from the day it was delivered to your house but I was wrong. I paid extra for express shipping but it still took close to 3 weeks to get my shipment. After taking the supplement for about 10 days I decided to cancel but checked my credit card statement and saw that I had been charged around $88. I call the company and they basically told me that there was nothing I could do because it was in their terms and conditions. Needless to say, I cancelled the monthly shipments and would advise you to be careful when ordering this product.
I tried it along with the colon cleanse for 1 day. I used the bathroom 5 times. My rear was so sore that I had to use the 2 year olds diaper rash cream to get any relief. I got free samples and I too was charged 90.00 for the colon cleanse. When you order it doesn't tell you that they will auto ship your next shipment unless you cancel it within the alloted time. for the colon cleanse it was 14 days and for the acai it is 30 days. I did cancel the acai before I got charged. I did see the acai at walmart and it is a gel cap. I think it has 60 caps and it was less than 8.00. I will try the acai again after our mardi gras festivities as I don't want to be searching for a bathroom while we are out and about. I will definitely buy local next time. One note that when you call these companies the operators are foreign and hard to understand, that is probably why they get away with what they are doing. My auto ship did not have any paperwork in it to call and return it. I guess hindsite is 20/20.
I ordered online for the free trial. It gave me heart palpitations, so I had to stop taking it day 2. Then I discovered a $90 charge on my credit card the next month. It was for a second bottle that I never even received. I called to cancel and the woman said I could not get the $90 back! I asked to speak to a mngr. but was never allowed. I was very upset to say the least, but I did finally convince her to credit my accout due to the fact that they were charging me for a product I never received. If the bottle had arrived, I would have been charged. I just got lucky. If you are going to try it, I would just go buy a bottle at the store. It is cheaper than $90. AND I would ask your doctor and pediatrician before taking it while breast feeding. It made my heart race, so I don't know what it would do to the baby.
Hi A.! I'm sorry I can't help you with the Acai diet, however I must commend you on your Super Mom strength to handle four kids and going through a divorce! How in the world do you manage all your responsibilities, diet, decorate cakes and keep your sanity! You are an inspiration to the female race!
We are taking Mona-Vie, a healthy juice, which has the Acai in it along with 18 other exotic fruits...it is awesome stuff! and they have three different kinds Original which is for kids and pregnant or nursing moms, Active which has glucosamine in it, and Pulse which is for people with high cholesterol. It helps with weight loss(Original and Active), achy joints(Active), and heart problems(Pulse).
I don't know anything specifically about the acai diet but I would just like to give a word of warning about a lot of these diets. Any of the ones that have you take pills that don't let you absorb the fat, remember this: Your body takes the fat in, if its not absorbed, it must come out! You will spend a lot of time on the toilet. Also, several of the eating plan diets are not nutritionally sound. Do not follow them long term and make sure you take a vitamin supplement with them. I spent a lot of time and money on several variety of diets before I found one that works. Turns out it was the simplest of all. Healthier choices, portion control and regular exercise.
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. it's not free, and payment will be drafted from your account even if you try to stop it. If you are set on trying it,. go to your local GNC store, they carry it. However I saw no results. I'm currently taking ALLI, and I love it. I'm getting back down to my old size, and I feel really good. PLZ dont fall into this gimick of online ordering of this product, its not worth the hassel and the cost it will be in the long run.
