My boss has one and LOVES it.. Don't order it from TV.. you can find it at a J.-Ann's Fabrics, it's on sale now.. One thing.. the additional cartridges and mats, etc. are pricey...

One morning this last week at 5am, my 3-yr old decided it was time to rise and shine. I put the TV on and saw an info-mercial about the Cricut. It's a cutting machine for crafts and scrapbooking. Low and behold, my Christmas list instantly gained a new item. But my husband insists that I try to find someone who has used one and get some feedback.
Does anyone have one? Do you like it? Is it all it's cracked up to be?
Thanks!
D.
Ya'll are awesome! Thanks so much for your feedback. I think I'll go ahead and give him the thumbs up on this one. And someone mentioned the newer version. It cuts the 12 x 12 paper. Maybe I'll ask for that one. I love to scrapbook (when I have the time---humph!).

The cricut machine is a great product and saves time instead of having to cut everything by hand using a manual die cutting machine. Once you try it, you won't go back.
My husband and I run an online business which sells scrapbook supplies. We have Cricut products. I'll send you a message privately to give you more info.
Happy Holidays,

Hi there D.,
The cricit, awsome scrapbooking tool. although very expensive, and so are the components, its well worth it if you are a scrapbooker. I use to work for michaels and we would sell them so fast that we couldnt keep them in the stores. Always had a waiting list. I dont know if they still do it, but they do classes on them on sat. or sun. afternoon. check with www.michaels.com and check your local town michaels schedule, or call the one in your town and check to see if they give either classes or do an examples showing in store. A lot of times if you call them and tell them that you are interested in it, the crafts cordinator will take time to show you if you make an appt. to go in.
In my experience of the cricit, i really enjoyed it. Its not just for scrapbooking, its great to use in classrooms at school/ churches /businesses/ flower shops, the list goes on for project boards.
I highly recommend it, but like i said, it is pricey and so are the components.
Good luck and i'm interested to know if you decide to get it and how it works for you!!
Cheers

I've never used it myself, but I work for a well-known craft company, and the Cricuts seem to go pretty fast in our stores, especially by hardcore scrapbookers. On occasion they will go on sale, as well as the different cartridges.
I have one, and I love it.. I use it for scraping and kids projects. I made wreaths for my sons class for christmas and they are putting pics for parents gifts.
And its very easy too use!!
I just wanted to give you a heads up - this isn't the only kind of cutting machine on the market. You also might want to consider the Wishblade. It's pricier ($400) but it cuts anything and everything without cartridges. You may be able to get a Cricut for $200, but with cartridges running $70 each, you'll surpass the cost of a Wishblade in a hurry.
The main difference is you need a computer to run a Wishblade, while a Cricut stands on its own.

I HAVE HAD ONE FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND I LOVE IT. I MADE MOST OF
OUR CHRISTMAS CARDS THIS YEAR.
The only problem is there is a NEW version out now and I wish I had that one.
I should warn you the scrapbooking is highly addictive and can be expensive:}
My friend has one. She loves it. We live in the outskirts of Houston (TX) and Hobby LObby sells them here. Good Luck
If you would like additional reviews do a search on twopeasinabucket.com its a scrapbooking message board with tons of threads about the latest products.
The circuits are very popular!

Saw the infomercial and also saw the item at Wal-Mart the other day!
Don't have one, but want one! THought I would buy it from Wal-Mart and look it over real well and if it doesn't seem to be all it is cracked up to be, I'd take it back.
Just an idea!

Didn't even know there was an infomercial! LOVE LOVE LOVE my cricut!!! Everyone I know has one now! The great thing about having a group that scrapbooks together is taht you don't have to buy multiple cartridges, you can share cartridges. It's the coolest tool in a VERY long time. Go to the cricut website and sign up to get the e-mail news letter, the cricut chirp. They have all kinds of cool stuff on there, and you can also find great project that people have done using their cricut on the website. Tell your hubby that we all LOVE the cricut and everyone has them now! The cheapest place to get them is Wal-Mart. I got mine through QVC. Good luck, I hope you get one!

I have a few scrapbooking friends who love their cricut!! They like to check with each other before they buy new pieces for it, and only buy what the others dont have. That makes it fun for trading and scrapbooking together! I think you should go for it:) ~A.~
Hi D., I got one on Black Friday at Walmart and thought I would pass along the info to you. They had them for $119 which is awesome compared to the $200+ they can be. Just thought I would share! I haven't used mine yet, but I can't wait to sit down and finally get to play with it!!! I have a 5 year old little girl & love to scrapbook! Email me!
I have seen them do a hands on trial at Michaels. You might want to call them, maybe they will let you try it. Also it has been on sale at WAl-mart for $120.00. I have some friends that love it. I hope this helps. A.
