Anyone with Chicken Pox?

Hi,
I am wondering if there are any children who currenly have the chicken pox. I am looking to have a good old fashioned chicken pox party so my children can be exposed naturally to chicken pox. I choose not to vaccinate my children and I would rather they build their immune system naturally. If anyone has a child with the pox currently, please let me know. I've checked out this site also, but there isn't any activity on it: www.poxparty.com Thanks!-Heather

Hi there!
My child doesn't get vaccinated either. I'm hoping someone I know will get the chicken pox. I know the older one gets the more severe it can be.
I have heard of vaccinated children getting chicken pox. I don't understand why kids are getting pumped with all these vaccines at such an early age. Let me know if you ever find someone with chicken pox and I will do the same!

Please don't attack posters for their views on vaccines. Until you've suffered through the pain of watching a child injured by vaccines, you should reserve your judgement. Yes, vaccines can be a good thing in most situations, however they don't work well for all children. Further, Chicken Pox is not typically a life threatening disease. It is simply an inconvenience. And on top of that, it is much more severe to get Chicken Pox as an adult. The only way to get lifetime immunity is to actually get the chicken pox (not the vaccine). Kids who are vaccinated will most likely lose their immunity by the time they reach adulthood and then they are at a greater risk. And there's no guarantee that the vaccine will work in the first place (my nephew received it and only a year later, he had no immunity to chicken pox). I don't post this to lash out, only to ask people to respect the decisions of other parents.

I heard that someone is my kids gymnastics got it from the vaccine. Unfortunately, my daughter didn't get it though. Please let me know if you hear of any party. I really want my kids to get the great immunity I have of it, and soon!

HI D. S
What a great post. I hope we get an infected one here. I freaked a mamas group for asking the same thing. They almost kicked me out, and some of them got quite nasty. Thanks for asking, and let us all know when theres a party. :) A. H

Why expose your children to a harmful illness on purpose. For your childrens sake and the health of those around them get them vaccinated. I will never understand the thinking of people that on purpose don't give their children life saving vaccines.

Thank you for your post Julie.. getting or not getting children/adult vaccinations should be an informed parental choice. Vaccinations also do not insure that children will not get a disease since there are different strains of each.. take the flu shot for example.

Hi My daughter got the Chicken Pox when she was 1 1/2. After we got back from Disney. I think it was great that she got them. I didn't get the vaccine for my older daughter till she started Kindergarden (only because I thought I had to). Then at her 8 yr checkup last year she needed a booster. (I wonder if she is going to need one again) If I hear of anyone with chicken pox I will let you know ASAP. It just doesn't happen often anymore. GOod Luck.

I wish I did I will be looking myself in about 6 months once baby gets a bit older.

FYI you vaccine lovers - approx 70 children died each year from chicken pox related illness - most children had other issues such as auto immunie and died from complications associated with other problems. THERE IS NO ASSURANCE how long the pox vaccine is effective ALL medical professional will tell you that you must receive a booster at least once if not more as an adult. Many adults fail to vaccinate themselves. Getting chicken pox as an adult currently is 3 TIMES more fatal than as a child. Also a pregnant person cannot vaccinate and if she is vaccinated but not immune and gets pox there is a HUGE chance of fetal INJURY.

So before you go preaching about the pox vaccine arm yourself with the real knowledge.

and Amy - I would quit your group LOL!!!
