AP & BF Mom Looking into Daycare Jobs

I did childcare in my home and was able to still care for my
daughter the way I wanted to. I kept two children in addition to my own. Not working outside the home would have never worked for me without it. Obviously there is a need and lots of people would rather have their child in a home than in a daycare.

please do all you can to avoid daycare. it is not good for children! keeping kids in your home is a great idea or you and your husband work switch shifts until you can save enough to be home with your child.

Have you looked into work at home options? A home based business? There are some great options out there, but you have to weed through the not so great LOL. I work part-time in childcare and am able to take my daughter with me. I can tell you that it is very hard for her to "share" me with the other kids and has led to a lot of meltdowns. Also, at a daycare, I don't think you would be able to be in the same room as your son, or if they would let you take the time to nurse him because it would take you away from the other children. I think your best bet is to work from home. Just be careful not to get scammed. I know ladies who have had luck with things like Avon, Mary Kay, and Arbonne. I also had a friend who did medical coding & billing from home when she had her daughter.

I worked at a daycare n could never make it back after I had my child. For one thing expect ur baby to come down with something. Also when there are a lot of kids around there is never a dull moment the minute u sit down one kid is getting into something etc. On the plus side ur baby can have playmates. Its just so hard cause ur instinct is to take care of ur own baby but u won't always be able to first. Try it you might like it, or you could find someone to take care of in your home. I now work for a church where there are just a few kids n many teachers. If u have ?s just ask

I don't have any real advice but just so you are aware, many daycares will not allow you to work in the same room as your child so the flexibility you're seeking will most likely not be an option.
