I was just talking about appliances yesterday. It's funny that Jackie P mentioned Kenmore as being good. My oldest daughter bought a fridge, dishwasher, glass top stove, and clothes washer and dryer from Sears 5 yrs ago. When the appliances were delivered the delivery guys dented the fridge so another one had to be delivered. They also put a dent in the washer but it was small and since that's in the basement my son in law decided to let it go.
The dishwasher broke over this past summer and it was cheaper to get a new one on clearance than to have it repaired. The washer has been fixed twice due to bad computer boards, the dryer has also been repaired, and the fridge continues to leak water out of the filter and the sears techs have no idea why after 3 service trips.
Customer service is terrible with every repair scheduled about 10 days from the day you call. You know because you can really do without a washer for 10 days when you have a family of 5. When my daughter called she told the person what the problem was and yet the tech came out without a new computer board so one had to be ordered, took 4 days to arrive and another 6 days for the tech to come back and install it. 20 days without a clothes washer.
The fan in the fridge crapped out a couple weeks ago so my son in law bought the part himself and replaced it instead of waiting over a week for sears to come out, not have the part, and have to come back. Terrible service.
We've had the best of luck using Home Depot for appliances. Delivery is scheduled and very professional.
