Are There Any Doctors in Amarillo, Texas Who Don't Require Vaccinations? Edited

I edited to just say doctors instead of pediatricians upon a recommendation, thank you by the way for the advice!

We just moved and we don't vaccinate our children yet. We're delaying and might not even do them at all. I'm just not sold on the "studies" that proclaim them safe. I've read too many reports and say the opposite.

Any help would be appreciated.

If I had babies today I would probably go a different route than a mainstream ped.

Good luck and good for you that you are cautious. I wish I had been more so. Like most 90's parents I trusted my board certified ped . . . if only I knew then what I know now.

And no, I'm not anti-vaccine. I just don't think there should be a one-size-fits-all approach.

I am not a medical professional of any sort and this is my personal opinion. You have to do what you think is best for your baby and what has worked (or not worked) for me may or may not work for you. Good luck.

Hi D.,
I would highly recommend that you find a family practice doctor or a DO instead of a pediatrician.

Your going to have to do this work yourself...Know your in-network providers & start calling their offices if they aren't able to say yes or no then move to the next or make an appt. to ask the DR or ask to speak to the nurse only if the receptionist is unable to answer your questions.

Try doing a google search or check Dr. Sears's web site but you may have to call around like someone else mentioned....it's a beating but it will be worth it. Good luck!
P.S. We drive 45 minutes to get to our vaccine friendly doctor so you may need to look outside your immediate area. Hopefully one day these doctors will be easier to come by.

We use Rebecca Scott. LOVE her! While we do still vaccinate, we are doing it on the alternative schedule laid out in "The Vaccine Book". She is totally fine with that. Like, the MMR. They can't get it divided the way that he recommends in the book, so she said we just won't worry about it til they're older. Hope that helps!

I don't think any Dr. can force you to have them vaccinated they will probably try to insist, I didn't have my youngest vaccinated untill just before she went to school. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have it done even though all of my kids were fine but sometimes I wonder if certain health issues are caused from them. Good Luck in your search.

D.,
I also just moved to Amarillo and am looking for a vaccination friendly Dr. We do not vaccinate at this time and may never. Have you found a Dr. here who respects your choice to not vaccinate?

I am in the same situation. I will not inject my baby with anything foreign until I am fully educated on the risks and benefits. Did you by chance find a family doctor or pediatrician that will take you as a patient?

Thank you!
