My son is almost three, and he is very creative (something that I would like to foster). Besides the Nelson (they are pretty pricey), do you know of any toddler-age art classes in the community?

Thanks, A. L

What can I do next?

Wonderscope has an excellent art class on Mondays from 9:30-noon...long enough to get some stuff done after you dro them off! it pans out to about $14/class, but completely worth it! They come home with a huge grocery bag full of projects! Gymboree also used to have an art class.
good luck!

I think Nelson Atkins Museum has art classes but not sure of age limit.

Also ARTiChokes Art Studio on Mission Rd just south of 103rd has open studio even for kids with parents there from 12-5p on saturdays. we go. it's nice to have someone else clean up though I talk that through wtih 4.5 yr old with cleaning brushes.

also I hear the that new art museum at JCCC is going to have art classes for kids but no details

there may be others going on during day M-F but I am not tapped am, work outside house M-F full time

We have done Gymboree classes since my son was about 3 months (he is 19 months now). I know they have art and music classes also through Gymboree. Look one up that is close to you and see if their classes will work with your schedule. They will let you go and try it out before you sign up. I love thier programs. I have also met life-long friends through the Gymboree program.

Is Kaleidoscope still around? When I was a kid I went there a lot, and always had a blast! It's not so much a "classroom" type environment, but the kids get to do whatever their creative little noggins can come up with!!
