Do you put leftover baby food in the fridge? If so, do you heat it up when you give the leftovers to baby? And how do you heat it? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We always put the extra in the fridge and then serve it cold the next time. I do use store bought food and do not make my own. This answer may differ if it is not store bought. My son doesn't care if it is hot, cold or room temp. he just loves his food. :)

When my son was on the jarred food, I used to give him half the baby jar and put the other half in the fridge to give me to him the next day ( I never kept it the fridge for longer than 2 days. My son hated cold fruit and vegetable purees and I was against microwaving anything for him so I would either set the jar in a glass of hot water until the food got to room temperature or I would press the jar against my skin to get the chill off. I always bought the glass baby jar foods (beech nut instead of gerber) because it was much easier to warm that way, plus I was afraid of the BPA in the gerber plastic leaching into the food when I would warm it up.

you are supposed to spoon it out into a dish (about the amount they eat) then you can stick the rest of the jar in the fridge.... they say never feed out of the jar then put it in the fridge b/c it grows bacteria... i did it once or twice with my kids and they are still alive so i dont see much harm in it. i would nuke the food for 7 seconds at a time stir then test it nuke it a few more if it needed it

Yes I do. I also feed him leftovers of what we eat too. I give him a little in his own bowl and heat it up for about 12 seconds or so in the microwave. He loves everything we eat so I make extra for him to eat later.

I heat mine in the microwave sometimes, but usually just give it to her cold. She likes it better that way.. I usually save leftovers. They are only good for UP TO 3 days in the fridge... but they will get runny if you fed the baby out of the container. (Baby's saliva from the spoon will start breaking down the food.) so usually it's next-meal or next-day stuff. I have learned how much to expect her to eat, so I usually seperate out that portion size, and if she's still hungry after that I will heat up more and offer that to her.

Not when I fed them from the jar, unless I knew we'd eat them in a few hours If they'd not eaten from the jar, I kept them for 2-3 days.

I know some don't advise heating in the microwave because some dumb parents have burnt their kids, but I'd like to think I am smarter than that! I did it all the time, but always remember to stir well to remove 'hot spots'.

I do put them in there for my grandson (and did for my own kids) and yes I heat them up, usually in a dish in the microwave. If I wouldn't eat cold chicken noodles I wouldn't ask my child/grandson to. But fruits I usually don't heat when they're younger. When he got to be around 10 months I stopped reheating fruits.
