my daughter was like that when she was born, you might want to try warmer water... I know that the drs and hospital say lukewarm, but you might want to run it a little warmer than that.

My daughter did too so I took to showering with her. The shower head was pointed to hit below her head and she loved it. She has since outgrown that stage and now loves baths.

We just kept giving the baths and holding the baby and smileing splashing the water alittle until the baby finally stopped screaming and started playing. It took around 4 or 5 times, but now we can't keep him out. Good Luck

I dont know if you take a bath with her or not. But I always did with both of my daughters until they felt comfortable being by themselves. I think being inside of a big bathtub makes them fell unsecure being by themselves. I dont know.. It might help. G.

Are you bathing her in the bathtub, a baby bathtub, or the sink? My oldest HATED his baths when he was a baby, he couldn't stand being in either type of bathtubs, but then we figured out that he loved sink baths. I would leave the faucet running (slowly) over the other sink and he would get distracted trying to catch that water while I bathed him. Another thing to try is maybe having dad or a grandparent bathe her. My husband tried to bathe our oldest- and he just wouldn't have anything to do with daddy. But if I was the one to give him his bath, everything was peachy.

Are you sumberging her in the water yet? My daughter hated baths till we actually let her "sit" in the bathtub. We have a baby bathtub. Now she loves her bath. We sing to her and giver her lots of toys to play with. The main thing is to not get frustrated. I know it's hard, but if you dread bathtime, baby can pick up on that. It will make her hate bathtime too. Just try to make it a special occasion. Try to get everyone involved in bathtime. Hopefully that will help.

ya know what, mine did the same thing... and i think she was barely 2 months old when i found the solution... i bathe her in the tub with me. i still do, at 16 months, but mostly cuz it's easier on my back and we have fun splashing together. here's how it works for us: fill the tub a little lower than you normally would, and have your husband or someone pass her off to you once you're in. if there is noone that can help you with it, you could always lay her on a soft bathmat or towel on the floor until you get in, or just go ahead and get in holding her. i am right handed, so i would cradle her in my left arm and use my right arm to bathe her. when she got a little older, i would bend my legs and just sit her in my lap leaned back on my knees. then as she got even older, she could sit up in my lap, and eventually sit in the tub, and now she's all over the place :) having help is easier for the getting out process, because you're both wet and she's a little slippery. i would just grab a towel and wrap around both of us, then have another on my bed or her changing table to dry her with, and would get her dressed before dressing myself. my little one was like this with everything-- she liked to be held and that was the bottom line. i even tried after she started liking baths to move her back to her little tub, but it never worked. it does now, if i need to just give her a bath, to let her in the tub alone with me outside the tub bathing her, but i prefer to be in there with her. whatever you decide-- good luck, and know it won't last forever!

My Daughter did the same thing and I bought every sort of bathtub and toys on the market. Nothing worked. What did work was bathing her in the kitchen sink. I think having it be a little more confining to them helps them feel safe. Just wash your sink out really good before and after.
