Baby Monitors - Coatesville,PA

I need a new baby monitor for my upcoming baby. The one I had for my other two sons was horrible. It didn't really pick up sounds – just static. I could only tell if the baby was crying because the monitor lit up and made noises. The sound was NOT clear.

What can I do next?

I had the same problem with my old monitor and finally we got a new one and we love it. It is a digital monitor by Summer. It is about $60 compared with the usual $35 or so, but it's worth it because there is very little static at all. It also lights up if there is noise. Good luck. =)

We have the Sony Baby Call (NTM-910) monitor and love it! We read about it in Baby Bargains and opted to get the one with 27 channels and a rechargeable receiver. It works great with hardly any static. I highly recommend it.

Our daughter is just turning three - For two years we used the Clear & Near rechargeable 2.4 GHz Monitor. We were able to identify when she was awake by listenening to her breathe - we were even able to take it outside.....good luck C.

My husband and I really like the Summer Infant Baby's Quiet Sounds Video Monitor. Not only can you hear the baby but you can see if she/he is alright. My daughter is now 16 months and we can bring it with us into our office or downstairs at night. It helps alleviate some of the stress knowing that the baby is sleeping or maybe just woke up or crying but you can see if she is alright and may not have to react so fast. I also think is will be good later on when she is older because you can put the monitor into a playroom and keep watch.

Here is a link to the monitor available at Target.

Hope this is helpful and best wishes.

Hi K.! Congratulations!

I cannot say enough about the safety 1st monitor that I have. There are 2 hand units that work when not plugged in AND 3 base units so that you can have 1 base in each childs room. The hand unit works on a scan so it scans each monitor when all 3 are on or you can have it stationed on one of the monitors. The hand units also work as wakie talkies. I LOVE IT. It is a little expensive $129.99 at babies r us but I wouldn't give it up for any other.

It is so clear, works great anywhere in and around my house even with all our "gadgets" that normally would interfer with a 900mH device and hasn't caused me any issues at all. I hear my little girl perfectly. When my friend comes over with her child she uses one hand unit and one of the base units to listen for her child. She told me if I EVER see it cheaper to let her know.

Here is what the write up says: The Safety 1st 900 MHz Home Connection Monitor System allows parents to monitor up to 3 locations within the home. The selective monitoring, color coded system allows parents to listen to only one room or up to three at the same time. The perfect home monitoring solution for today's active family.

Good luck in your search!

Babies R Us has a really great selection, and I am sure the staff there can answer any questions. That is where we purchased ours it is fisher price with two parent recievers, both with lights one with vibration mode.
It was actually not expensive and we really like it. Our room is right next to babies and we can still have it on without any static. It is 900mhz, and from what I understand, the higher the better.
Good Luck!!

Hi!

We've had fabulous luck with the Sony 900-mega hertz. We started using it when we lived in a condo and never had a problem with static or interference. We've since moved and are using it with our three children (all under 4 years). I place the base unit in the hallway between their bedrooms and it's sensitive enough to pick up noise from each room. Highly recommended!!

Hi K.,

Congratulations on expecting your third child! I would suggest the Fisher-Price Lights and Sounds Dual Monitor System. It looks like they have upgraded it since we purchased it for our daughter, over two years ago. It's very sensitive, it definitely picks up every noise your baby makes (even some conversations in the next room). There are two channels so if you suddenly pick up your neighbors cordless phone conversation, you can change the channel. The light display is great too (especially when vacuuming). I loved the idea of having two receivers, to place in different rooms of our house. At Babies 'R Us for $32.99. Good luck with everything! Are you having a Doula (either Birth or Postpartum)? C. E.

I have the digital fisher price monitor. It has 2 monitor units so you can have one in your bedroom and one in your livingroom. It also has a choice of 10 channels which is more then most. It also works at up to 400 ft distance. I bought these monitors after my first ones stopped working after a year. Then I went through several others that either had interference or static. Another thing to watch out for, if you have a satelite dish it can create interference. My neighbor got one and our old monitor never worked right again. This monitor wasn't that expensive either, only $50 at toys r us. The sound is great. You mostly only hear the baby not to much background noise. I hear everytime he even wiggles in bed. I love them.

The Summer Infant Baby's Quiet Sounds Video Monitor is a definite must have. The ability to see what is going on puts your mind at ease and when you are trying to get them to sleep through the night you can check out to see if you actually need to go in the room or not. Without his monitor I would have been a wreck. I have a 7.5 month old baby and believe this is the best baby shower gift we received. It is only $99 at many stores... well worth the investment and it can be used when the get older in the play room.

Good Luck!!

I've been through four monitors with two kids and the best, best one I've found is The First Years brand 900 mghz...it's blue and it rests in a charger, but you can clip it on clothes. It doesn't pick up any static or other people's monitors (so confusing when there's other babies in the neighborhood). The one I have only has one receiver, but I'm sure they make more now.

CONGATULATIONS!!! I would highly recommend to get a monitor with a screen. It makes a world of difference. I'm a mother of a 3 month old baby boy and I do not regret paying a little bit more for it. It is a very good investment. I have the one from Safety 1st. We pay around $110.00

Hi K.,
When I searched for a monitor I used several and wasn't happy with almost all of them. The only one I found that worked great with minimal to no static was Graco's iMonitor. I purchased mine at babiesrus. They have a monitor with 1 parent unit for $59.99 and 2 parent unit for $89.99. I liked the 2 parent monitor so I could keep one upstairs and the other downstairs. Then wouldn't have to change the volume level. They're a little bit more expensive then the rest but are well worth it because they work great!!
Good luck,
J.

Hi K.!
We also had a tough time finding a good baby monitor and have been very lucky with the Sony Baby Call monitor...it's just your basic baby monitor but the reception is great and we haven't had any trouble with interference. Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck! A.

I use one now from the first years. I got it from Target. It's small and has 2 receivers. It's not rechargeable but you can use the a/c adaptors that it comes with or you can use batteries. I haven't had a problem with static. It's not pricey, either (30s).

Best wishes with your upcoming birth!

Congrats! I used the Sony monitor. It was very clear. I loved how the receiver was rechargable. It was slightly pricey, but well worth every penny. Here's a link to it at Babies R' Us. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=226742...

Graco has a digital monitor that is wonderful! It is a little more expensive, but the fact that it is digital provides clear sounds (able to differentiate between crying and cooing) and there is no static or interference with cordless or cell phones!

Congratulations K.! When we we're shopping for my baby's monitor, we decided to get the Baby's Quiet Sounds Hand Held 2.5 inch Color Video Monitor by Summer Infant. It might be on the high price (around $190), but the fact that you can clip the monitor and see/hear the baby anywhere is a great feature. Me and my husband do not regret this purchase and we have not had any problems with reception/interference and can take it anywhere in the house. Good luck...
