You may want to look at the Evenflo Triumph 5 convertible car seat. We have that in our Acura and the Alpha Omega Elite in our SUV. You don't want the Alpha for a smaller car. They both rate really well for safety.
I have a seven month old who is tall for her age and is quickly growing out of her little car seat with base (the ones that are a carrier/carseat/and attach to a stroller). I have a very small car (Toyota Corolla) and I don't know where to find a larger carseat that I can still face in reverse in my little car. Has anyone else run into this problem and successfully found a solution?
Thanks everyone for the advice on a convertable car seat for my very small car. I actually have the Britax brand, but it must be a different version than the Marathon because it does not fit in my small car in reverse - however it fits in our truck in the reverse position and she rides comfortably in there. I may look into the Evenflow that was suggested - that is the brand that we have for our current infant carrier she is growing out of so quickly. Thanks again...

You'll have to get a "convertible carseat". It can face backwards until your baby is one year old AND 20 pounds, then you can turn it around. Happy driving. :)
Hi,
I actually had the same exact problem, including the toyota corolla. It is also rear facing and can go forward facing when it is time. We liked the Britax Marathon and plus now she is three years old and is still able to be in that car seat I believe until 50 lbs. It is a little pricey but you figure how long she will be in it and it is also on of the safest.

You can move to the next stage in car seat and they can face backwards. I did this with my baby. It is a stationary car seat for infants through toddler stage. Best bet is to go to Babys R Us. They are wonderful help there. Good luck.
