Gift cards are always a good call. Just $5-$10 should do the trick, or you could go to the CVS, Walgrees or whatever drugstore you have around and pick out some little things for a gift bag (beef jerky, hand sanitizer, candies, hand warmers, travel size things, etc.). Have fun!

You may not want to hear this, but forget the games... they are old school and nobody really likes them or the embarassment they cause. I just gave my brother and sister-in-law a co-ed shower and it was fabulous and the guys loved it. We did onesies t-shirt painting and to my surprise, the best ones came out of the guys! Just my two cents... but try it, I think you will be overjoyed! Good luck no matter what!

It depends on what kind of budget you have for gifts and what you are doing for the female gifts. Do you want to coordinate the men's gifts with the women's? Here are a couple of ideas that I have:

- A computer memory stick (jump drive/thumb drive). You can get a 1G one for fairly cheap.
- Men's lotions/body gels from Bath & Body Works or some place like that.
- A "Game Time" Snack Basket with some chips & salsa, beef jerky, sodas or beer, candy, nuts, etc... anything guys like to eat while watching sports. Throw in a pair of beer mugs to finish it off.

I guess it ultimately depends on the budget and the type of guys that will be at the shower, hopefully this helps! Have fun planning!!

I just went to co-ed baby showers and the guys had just as good as a time than the women.

Both of pregnant women were young 17 and 21.

They played plant a kiss on Edward from Twilight. They had a poster of Edward and they had pre-kissed some sticky paper so the players can place them on the poster. If you don't want to do that then you can find a game online or in a store where they have a giant baby and you can take a square of toliet paper and fold it like a diaper and have the players pin it on the baby.

There was also the clothes pin game were you can not cross your legs. They used blue baby toy clothes pins because both ladies were having a boy. They added a twist which was much harder. Along with not crossing your legs, you could not say baby or the pregnant persons name. That was hard. And this one you play until after the presents are opened and if the presents are going to be opened until the guests leave. You can play until after the cake has been served. This game is the finale so it would be the grand finale gift.

They also played another clothes pin game and they used clothes pin that you hang on the clothes line and they put these pins on a hanger and the players had to with one hand pick the clothes off the hanger one by one. They could not adjust the pins in their hand by adjusting them anywhere on their body and if they drop one their turn is over. The one with the most wins.

There is also the tiny safety pins mixed with rice in a bowl. pour a cup of rice in a bowl and a package of the smallest safety pins you can find and mix the pins with the rice and the player has to pick out the pins and the one with the most wins.

You can go online and google babyshower games and there are some games that you can print out. For instance jumbled words like crib, bassinet, bottle, etc and this is a time limit game and the one with most correct answers win. Be careful there will be cheaters.

I found out that the guys don't want to do the cottonball game.

Have fun and good luck.

Any man brave enough to go to a baby shower deserves a really good bottle of tequila or scotch - the "mini-bar" size would be great.
I had people write name suggestions on bits of paper - sincere or silly and tossed them in a hat and read them out loud - it was fun - actually chose my son's name from one of the suggestions. ;)

Hello P.,
I happen to be helping my sister work on this right now. I have talked to many people who have shared thier ideas, so I will pass it along to you. Any ER items that can go in the trunk of the car - flashlight, space blankets( those foil ones that actually do work to keep you warm), food items, oil, tie downs or bungie cords, screwdrivers, 1st aid kits, things they can use-- I actually am going to do this for the women as well because how many candles does one actually need? With so many storms lately it only makes sence to have these items. Let me know what you come up with so that I can toss those ideas around as well. Glad that you are thinking of the guys and inviteing them. Nana Glenda

Hi P.,
I had a co-ed party about 15 yrs ago & we set it up more like a parents nite out. Co-Ed, but no kids.
Now, to be honest my best friend was the manager of a resturant so we were able to use her facility at no cost BUT...you wouldn't have to have a resturant to have the same kind of theme party.
We had small plate type of appitizers, music, drinks, some even danced.Kinda like an engagement party, very adult...We still played a couple games, which after a beer or two can be funny for the guys (some protested just a little too much and were over the top in how much fun they had). We opened gifts, and instead of Prizes for winning games, everyone went home with a little gift. I don't remember what they were exactly now but I do remember a small gift bag....
I also like the idea's of making something...like the onesie idea. That sounds like fun.
Now, as far as gifts go over to Target. They have all kinds of little things & gadgets in the auto dept for guys.Or many items that could be for either sex, gift boxes with coffee mugs sets, ice cream sets those types of things. Or instead of prizes just give evveryone a little something... Good Luck & congrats....
P.s. Maybe I should have mentioned, this was my third child. I had already had a couple of standard baby showers, that were.....boring. Not everyone is going to want such an alternative type of shower...

Maybe some scratcher lottery tickets? Or a $5 gift cert to Mc Donalds or Starbucks. Also, Cost Plus has some really cool unique beers- like 22 oz size that make a good guy gift

I've thrown three co-ed baby showers and, each time, the guys had more fun than the girls! Some may say that games are outdated and embarrassing or that the guys won't like them, but guys are very competitive and will do anything to win! I played the clothespin game (I used you can't say "baby") and the guys were stalking each other around the party to hear if someone would say it. So funny! Another good game I always use is to look up the names of celebrities with outlandish baby's names, put the names into two columns and see who can match the most.
But sorry, you asked for good gift ideas. A lot of the suggestions are good (beer/microbrews, gift cards) and I would add DVDs from the $5-$10 movie spot at Target or handheld poker/blackjack games. Food gifts tend to go over pretty well too.
Good luck!
