Some schools rent out their building on the weekends. You may want to try there. It is just a suggestion.
One of my friends is pregnant and we are wanting to throw her a baby shower. We wanted to throw it at someone house, but she has a big family and just worried that there might not be enough room. We are thinking of renting a party room, nothing huge but just big enough for everyone. Does anyone have any ideas of a place to rent out? Thanks.

You can check your local Knights of Coloumbus or other lodge type places. They often have rooms that are reasonably priced. You could also check any local Holiday Inns, they have smaller meeting rooms that aren't bad. We had a friends shower at one and it was really nice.
Many people have more than one baby shower. Perhaps you could throw a shower for her friends, someone from church could throw a shower for that crowd, and her sister or cousin could throw a shower for the family.
If that's not an option, many restaurants do have party rooms that don't require an extra fee, but you do have to reserve them in advance.
Check out your park district to see if they have a party room that they rent for an inexpensive price. Good luck!
My sister in law has this problem and what she does with her kids is rent a park or whatever ( call your city people and ask) -yes a pavilion is there, bathrooms, even a BBQ pit. Pick a day of no rain etc and have fun on the playground and the party! She rents it for 50 dollars.
If you're a member of a religious organization, ask if you could rent one of their rooms. Other places could be a pavilion at a local park (weather permitting), community club house, country club, library, hotel, Knights of Columbus meeting halls, ... that's all I can think of right now.
Have fun, hope one of these helps.
my sisters threw mine @ La Madeleine's... they had a room for us at no extra cost just had to pick food to serve. It was nice and easy! So look into restaurants with rooms, not all are additional fee to use room. Good luck
Try your local library. We have our annual HOA meetings in one of their meeting rooms :)
