that sounds Great! I dont know if everyone would know where to get a cloth diaper worth buying. I might list a local store or website that carry a good brand.
I vote for Starbucks!
Is is tacky to ask everyone to bring _A_ cloth diaper to enter a drawing instead of sposies? What should the prize be for the winner? I'm thinking gift card to Victoria Secret or Starbucks. Some kinda gift basket from Avon. I been reading the gift ideas and like the idea of a beach set, lotion, towel, cooler pack or Movie night out 2 tickets and consetions. I have a cloth diaper registry at myregistry.com and at nicky's diapers online.

Nope. If the parents are using cloth instead of disposable, its completely fine. I was at a shower last week were the winner got a set of scented candles. It doesn't have to be expensive. Avon has quite a few things on sale this time around.
A gift card to Victoria Secret or even Target so that the winner can get some undies for herself would be cute. If you want to go on the wild side, depending on the guests, it could even be as funny as a pair of chocolate panties. Just depends on the humor level.

"Sposies" that's cute. It took me a second. I think it's a great thing to get, but it's just the asking that's tough. I've heard that it isn't proper etiquette to put any inserts or mention of registeries in invitations. So, then it's up to the hostess to answer everyone's questions about what to get. I think telling everyone you want cloth diapers and where to get them is great! Friends of mine registered for a honeymoon and the word got around. It's a little easier with a wedding though because you can create a wedding website, mention that in the invite, and then have your stuff linked onto that.
Maybe times are changing and the registery on the invite isn't so bad. Who doesn't automatically think, "Where can I get the gift?" However, I do like the idea that it isn't really proper to ask for a gift.
Good for you for going this route! BTW, I think Victoria's Secret is great! Starbucks is pretty good too!
I agree with the poster before, it's a great idea, but unless there is a local and easy store to get to that has cloth diapers, then it probably wouldn't pan out.
One thing that I've found, is people don't bring cloth diapers. They don't know what to purchase, there aren't many local stores that sell cloth diapers, and EVERYONE just wanted to go to Target or Babies R us. The kind of cloth diapers I wanted, were sold online at Target and Babies R US, so I made a very small registry and said gift cards were appreciated. I used the gift cards to get our diapers!
