Not sure about the "breaking the bank" part, but there is a bakery that makes beautiful cakes in the plaza on the NE corner of Enterprise/McMullen Booth (it's next to Ban Thai).
We are having my sister's baby shower in 2 weeks, and just checked out the baby cakes at Publix. Not impressed. My sister is really not into "baby baby" things, she likes modern things, so we wanted a cake that was a little different. Anyone know where we can go to get a different baby shower cake but without breaking the bank? Preferably the Northern Pinellas/Clearwater area but at this point will drive!

Have you tried the Publix "Decadent Desserts?" The cakes are delicious. My baby shower host had the Raspberry Elegance and it was a huge it.
Hi M.,
I have a friend who is a sahm who does cakes. She just made my sons birthday cake and it was awesome. Much better than a store bought cake. She can do any type of cake. I just emailed her basically what I wanted and it came out perfectly. Here is her info

I used Key Lime Yummies in Tarpon Springs for my daughters birthday cake this year and it was beautiful and tasted wonderful! She came up with exactly what I was looking for, I just described the theme and the colors and she took it from there. I highly recommend them!
My mother-in-law (I was blessed with two of them) made a diaper cake at one point and it was the neatest thing I've ever seen. It's made out of actual diapers and then decorated with rattles, pacifiers etc. If you google it you will find many purchase or do-it-yourself options. You could then do any other type of dessert that is less expensive. Good luck
