Hi everyone! I have friend who is pregnant with twins. She has a 3 y/o DD and is expecting a boy and a girl! The baby shower is next weekend. She is registered at Babies R Us, but only for about 20 things. I would like to get her something that would be very helpful for a mom with twins. I was hoping to get ideas from moms of multiples or anyone with experience. What are your favorite, can't live with out, most helpful items? Thanks!

What can I do next?

double of everything. but i think the best thing would be help. once the newness of the twins runs out after a week or so of people always wanting to see them, she will need time for her self, time with her husband, and time with her other child. i did not have any help with my twins and my husband went back to work after 2 weeks, it can be over welming.

Cook meals and freeze them so all she has to do is take them out and heat them up.offer to help clean the house. or even give her a basket full of stuff to pamper her with.
good luck

Those duo strollers and high chairs are helpful. Or if that's too pricey then onesies!!! If you pick the neutral colors then it won't matter who gets which!

I found it really useful to have two swings and two bounce chairs...before I had the twins I thought one of each would be just fine, but I ended up with two of both and both got used a ton of use. She may have one from her first child and think she doesn't need a second. I also ended up buying another boppy. I used them a lot to set the babies in before they could move around. Another gift we loved were the portable high chairs. I didn't have the Bumbo seats with my twins but I had one with my 3rd child and wished I had had them with my twins. Although I have heard they have been recalled. I LOVED mine and never had any problems with it. You just need to use it correctly. The Miracle Blanket was also wonderful.

Hope this helps..help after the babies come is also very much appreciated!!

Check out this website ... www.babyslanguage.com ... I found it on a mommy blog and it has the cutest twin shirts. I realize you probably wanted something practical but I think these are too cute. As far as what to get, lots of onesies, diapers, detergent, bottles, bibs, all the necessities are good. If you want big ticket items, then of course you could get a bouncer chair, high chair and other things.

when in doubt - get diapers :-). Or if they have a favorite take-out food place, a gift cert., or if there's one of those Full Plate/Dream Dinners type places nearby a gift cert for there (or if you don't think she'd be able to go there to do the prep, make your own "gift cert" and prep the meals for her, for later delivery to her freezer).

Other stuff we used a lot for our twins:
the Ultimate Crib Sheet by Basic Comfort (snap-on sheet w/waterproof backing, sooo much easier to change than a fitted crib sheet)

Halo Sleep Sacks - all sizes, I'd get the larger ones since people tend to give small size clothes for showers.

that's all I can think of right now - my twins are 6YO so my memories of their newborn days are pretty vague now
