I think the Diaper raffle is the most beneficial game. You simply request that each guest bring a package of diapers then enter their names in a drawing. This way mommy gets tons of diapers and someone gets a door prize.
I'm wondering if anyone has any good ideas for baby showers? Also a good non-alcoholic punch recipe? Some of the gals & I are putting on a little shower for a co-worker & friend of ours.
Thanks for any help you can give

I just wanted to say thanks for all the reponses I received for the baby shower. It turned out great!! We had a garden motif of bright yellow, white & light green. The door prize was a basket with things to start your own garden: seeds, small garden tools, kneeling pad, little sign markers for what you've planted, a small stepping stone, gardening gloves,(all found at dollar stores!)We also had small plants & painted pots for prizes. For each table we had small pots with M&M's,petzels,& white chocolate covered pretzels (that I made myself)We also had veggies & dip, the veggies surrounded bread the shape of a bunny the dip was set in the belly of the bunny. A chocolate fountain with strawberries, pound cake& marshmallows speared to dip. Coffee & punch & a cake half chocolate, half banana nut. We played baby bingo, & had 2 plates marked for door prizes We had a great turn out & many compliments on how nice the shower was. Thanks to all that helped!!

Hi there! If you take a look back through the old requests, there is one from 3-13-07. Charlotte asked for baby shower games and there were a lot of replies. Check that out if you need games. There were some really good ideas. Have fun!
I have THE best punch recipe for you! It has been in my family for a long time and has been used for everything, even big church functions. Very simple and delicious!
1 2 liter of Sprite (or something comparable)
1 can frozen lemonade
1 64oz bottle of cranberry juice
As for ideas, we just did a google search for baby showers. There are all kinds of neat games and other ideas that will come up. There is always the good ol' classic game of baby bingo when the mother is opening gifts. If you don't know it, just message me and I will give you all of the info!
Hope this helps and good luck to you!
How about a spa shower. What soon-to-be new mom doesn't need to be pampered. Just do little stations like: foot bath, mini manicure, facial, massages. Favors could be nail polish and slippers (or fip flops since it is spring) I think you could make it as inexpensive or as expensive as you would like.
My favorite shower game is "The Price is Right", mainly because it is both shower game and shower gift in one... You buy a bunch of little items (diaper rash cream, pacifiers, Tylenol..) and have the guests guess how much each item was... The person closest to the actual retail price gets a point. The one with most points wins.
Hi M. - I've not seen any of the other responses, but some games that were fun at a babyshower I recently attended were:
Baby-related names. Everyone gets a name tag that has different baby-related items, etc. on them and if a real name is used, you have to put some money in a basket. All money collected at the end of the shower is given to the new mom.
We were given a small cup with a small amount of water and a tiny baby frozen in an ice cube. Whose ever baby was "born" first won. Of course, you couldn't touch the ice cube, you could only swirl it in the water and use the heat of your hands around your cup. It's a pretty cute game.
Of course, there's always the baby food tasting/smelling game AND the candybar in the diaper game. For the latter, you melt a candybar in a diaper and everyone is supposed to guess which candy bar it is. We've used a Snickers, Mr. Goodbar, Milky Way and of course - a Baby Ruth. Pretty silly - but lots of fun watching everyone sniff the diapers. ****Keep close eye on diaper in microwave - or melt it in something different and then transfer to diaper****
As far as punch - we always just used the Sprite (or something similar) with sherbet ice cream. Pretty yummy!
yes!!! I have some wonderfull and cheap ideas, we threw my baby shower when I was 19! So yea, we were a little strapped for money and it turned out to be a lovely shower. as far as center pieces you may already have those picked but if not these always work.go to micheals or some dollar generals and they have little rose bowls ( 4")/ $1 by those see through rocks in whatever color your using for the theme and get a cordinated floating rose candle from micheals ($1.49) for each rose bowl you can also use confetti and do little candy dishes on each side to take up space seeing as a rose bowl is smaller and it's cheap and fun :) just an idea as far as a non alcoholic beverage I happen to have a very good one for you........buy some pink lemonade crystal light use one little tub and follow the instructions on the can, then add 2 cups of orange juice and add 1 cup of gingerale cut couple pieces of orange up and let float in pitcher. now for bigger batches just double or triple ingredients:) hope this helps.good luck!

My sister just had a baby shower and everyone had a ball.
When you're guest arrive give them 5 safety pins. No one can cross there legs or arms in no kind of way. if someone is caught crossing something a pin is taken away. Who ever catches them keeps the pin. the person with the most pins at the end of the shower wins.
you can play the unscramble game. get a bunch of baby words and have them scrambled on paper. who ever unscrambles the most wins. This game is timed, usually about 60-90 seconds.
Get some tissue and have everyone tear of as much or as lil as they want. Then everyone takes turn wrapping it around mom to be belly. who ever is closes wins.
after about an hour or so have the mom to be leave the room. then have everyone write down what she has on. who ever has the most correct wins. This is a timed game, usually 60-0 seconds.
Find a baby themed word search and have the guest look for the words. This game is usually timed. Give them about 60-90 seconds.
Please let me know if this helps and how the shower goes.
Use equal parts 7up and fruit punch and add some sherbert. My family makes this at every function, it great.
My favorite non alcoholic beverage of all times is plain mineral water mixed with pomengrate juice (you can obviously substitute any other juice (concentrate) that you like, it mixes pretty well with mineral water.
As far as baby shower ideas, I can frankly tell you I am not too creative on that...I suppose you can go with some type of theme...or something??? I am a wrong person to ask in that department, but any clothing you buy for a baby unless she is expecting a premie buy larger sizes....kids grow out of stuff sooooooooooooo very quickly.
Good luck and have fun.
One of my friends is throwing a scrapbooking baby shower. All of the attendants are making pages for the mom-to-be so all she will have to do after the baby is born is add the pictures! They are doing this at a scrapbooking store, but it could easily be done in other locations. Good luck!
on the bottom of a plate write baby or if you know what it is right boy or girl or if it is twins write twins. get like 6 or 10 jars of baby food write on paper 1-6 or 1-10 and write the kind of food it is and put that number on top of the jar and have the people guess what kind of food it is keep the labels and give them to the mother so she can have them for the baby. where in michigan if you are in michigan i can make a cute diaper wreath with diapers and toys on it to hang up at the shower or give as a gift also can make daiper cake that can be used as a center piece or given as a gift. if you want to know more on the cake or wreath get a hold of me i can make them for you. the cake will cost $20 the wreath is $15. also for a game number a paper 1-20 put 20 baby items or even names on the paper but scramble the letters up so they guest have to unscramble them.
