I highly recommend sign language with babies! We have a 3 1/2-year-old that we did signing with ..... loved it! I'm excited to do it all again with our 2-month-old! Do it yourself. I usually would just google a sign when I needed a new one. I had a few books from when I was a school teacher that had some basic signs too. Have fun!

We taught both of our kids baby signs, it worked fantastic....they used like 75 signs towards the end, and still used some after they began speaking. All we did was buy the book "Baby Signs" and started using them while we talked to them. They picked it up very easily and it was adorable to watch. It was also helpful for them when they wanted to tell you something but just couldn't express themselves yet. I highly recommend it!

Just order a book/dvd online - no need to attend a class unless you really want to be social. It's something you need to do all day every day (milk, more, eat) - but it is awesome and they really enjoy it. My son is 4 and we don't use it anymore but it was really fun and helpful when he was little.

We just purchased a book/dvd package @ Costco for my daughter. We only taught her a few signs and it destressed everyone. "More" was used for everything by her and it helped us know what she wanted.

I used signs with my infant twins. The experience was so great I decided to offer classes to other families. I joined the Baby Signs team and offer classes in Alameda, CA (Bay Area), but I am sure you can find an intructor near you. Lean more at https://www.babysigns.com/.

You will be totally amazed at how much your baby can share with you!!

I agree that you want a reference in your house (book or Google), not a class. I'll add that we signed for probably six months with my son (from like 6-12 months) then pretty much dropped it because wasn't signing back. Three months *later* he started signing back on his own. So don't get discouraged if it doesn't work right away!

Hello! We used signs with the kids from a book plus a few family signs. It helped so much to keep the tantrums down and I highly recommend it. A class wouuld more for you since it will take constant repetition for a sign to stick with the really little ones. Enjoy the process!
