Hi J.

I really love my Mei Tai sling. I have tried the sling set, moby wrap, baby bjorn, and maya wrap. I really liked the maya wrap with one baby and the Mei Tai with my other!

Good Luck.

Hi, J.. I used a Hug-a-Bub when my daughter was a baby. It was great. It is a long piece of fabric that you wrap around yourself (seems a little complicated at first, but it really is quite easy) so that your little one is up against your chest. It is VERY secure, and you can bend over in it and everyting (unlike most other slings). My daughter loved being wrapped up tight next to my chest. Actually, I think my husband used it more than I did :). You can order it online at www.hugabub.com. I highly recommend it.

I used the "NOJO" sling by Dr. Sears. I got it at babies r us. If you are petite or big busted, it's not always easy to keep tight enough, but I made mine work for two boys and used them until they were almost a year. I DO recommned the sling, I think it's great. you could PROBABLY do much better than NOJO, though. Being adjustable to ALL body types is KEY. get online and actually call to speak to someone, ask about fit, how many positions baby can be in and if you are going to breastfeed, make sure the two can go hand-in-hand. NOJO has a pillow on one side, that when baby was placed on that side, could nurse easily. good luck finding something good!!

I have a maya wrap and i love it. My dd just turned 2 and i used it with her till she was 18 mths, and i just had ds 2 weeks ago and i've been using it with him since leaving the hospital. It's a ring sling so it's really easy to adjust and has diff ways you can put a baby in it. I like it better than some i tried

i used a moby with my son. not really a sling, but a wrap. you wrap it around yourself one way, and can cary baby 5 ways. it is soft and washable and my son loved it. he was so secure and close to me that i felt comfortable enough to have both hands free, not just one. confusing to wrap the first time, but you get the hang of it really fast. they are 35 dollars. you can use it from birth to 35 lbs. i still use it a lot, but my son is almost walking and he usually prefers to be free to roam. it really saves your back vs. a snugly or baby bojorn type carrier. also it uses both shoulders instead of one, so you can carry more weight. i think if you google moby wrap you can find the site.

I'm not sure if they still sell it, but I used The Original Baby Sling, which was just a wide piece of strong fabric with big plastic rings to adjust it and padding around the edges. I could be used in several different ways, and I even used it to help support my 2 year old on my hip while carrying a baby or leading a toddler. I would go to the mall, put the baby in the sling and could nurse while shopping and no one could tell, and it was easy to just move the baby from right in front around to the side. I used it while doing some housework, though if you're bending alot it's not as good as a snugglie. I never thought the snugglie was comfortable, though, and the sling was much faster to put on and take off.

Keeping your baby close is good for you and the baby. Good luck!

Hug-a-Bub is a great sling and used by many at La Leche League. You can go to Hug-a-Bub.com or they have them on Ebay. Hope this helps!

ERGO! Expensive but worth the price. You can use it from the time they are infants to when they are much heavier toddlers. My son is 2 1/2 and weighs 40 pounds and I can still use it.

I highly, highly, highly recommend the MOBY wrap! I tried many others and this is the one I love. It is really easy to put on and you can carry your baby in many different ways. I hated "ring" slings, because they were so hard to adjust and I didn't like the fact that my baby would only be laying on one side. I have used my moby from the day my son was born, I can breastfeed while wearing it and it is super comfy. I have a 3 year old as well and this keeps my baby secure while I chase him around the playgroud, store, or libaray. Now that my son is almost 6 months old, he love to ride around facing out (sort of like a bjorn). Another great point...it fits in a diaper bag and can be thrown in the washer.

I LOVED my myawrap!
I still use it for my 3 year old on occasion. You can put a kid in there like a seat on your back. They get the comfort & you have hands free!

Hey J.,
I know this is a late reply, but I also like the Ergo and I do like a pouch style sling by Karma Baby. The Ergo is great for hikes, and longer times of carrying the child and dads like them also, easy to change size form one parent to another. The pouch style sling is more sleek when folded and therefore easier for me to jsut tuck under the stroller in case my little one gets tired of sitting in there but we aren't somewhere he can run around safely. The karma pouch is cut a little deeper in the pouch than others I have used and therefore works better longer for my growing guy, it also has a pocket on the front that I can slip a diaper or keys into when jsut out for a quick bit. There is a site with these you can check out at www.CarryMeClosely.com
There are so many choices out there, so go with your instinct I guess is the best. And keep in mind sometimes more than one style works best over the long run.
