Baby Speech Delay

I can understand what you are going through. My daughter also has speech delays. You need to talk to her pediatrician and tell them that you want to see about getting her into speech therapy. The sooner you start this process the better cause it can take so long to get into a therapy program, it took us a year from the time she was first evaluted. And really one of the big things I have learned in the last four years with my daughter is they work on their own time table all of those chart and things that doctors have to evaulate our kids are good as an average but every kid goes at their own pace and when she decides she wants to talk she will, but I would definatley talk to her peditrician. Depending on what city you live in, cities have places where you can have your baby tested for delays. In this way you won't have to worry.

My daughter did not say anything until she was about 18 months old and then it wasn't much just sounds, but after she turned 2 she just started talking and was using complete sentences within a few months. I did talk with my peditracian about it because I was concerned, but 7 months seems really young to be worried. However, I would recommend you speak with your peditracian and if there is a question of hearing the Portsmouth Navy Hospital did an excellant job testing my son for hearing problems. My daughter was also walking by 9 months. The peditracian told me that some kids develop speech early and some motor skills early. I know its hard not to compare, but just to set your mind at ease I would talk with the doctor.

I have seem this before. And the opposite!
Developmentally some develop physically greatly, and the speech comes later, others speak first and not walk till after 17 months as with my friend!

I don't know where you live but every state has some sort or Early Intervention Program. They can test her and provide services if she is speech delayed.
