Hi, I am almost 30 weeks pregnant and gained 25lbs so far. I have been eating healthy all during the pregnancy and get fatter by the day .. Even if I eat a .little less, i still gain, and if I eat more, then I gain even more. I am 41 and it took me about 2 yrs to get within my prepregnancy weight with the last baby (i gained 60 with her) . Do you think I will gain much more before I have the baby? I am so frustrated.... but excited to meet my baby!!

What can I do next?

I don't know if this helps you, but I'm at 34 weeks. My midwife said the best way to keep weight gain in check (and to insure I don't have a huge baby either) is to really watch my dairy and sugar intake--she said those two are important to monitor especially during the last trimester. And as humans, we don't need dairy. Calcium and vitamin D, yes, but we don't need to be drinking milk--she said no more than a serving of milk a day (although I don't drink it). I do consume cheese, but have been trying to keep an eye on that. Good luck and congrats!

You will probably gain at least 10 more lbs. Are you exercising? Exercise and watching your carbs should help you keep the weight gain at bay.

In your third trimester, you can expect to gain about a pound a week. Gaining 35 pounds at term is not excessive. Please don't eat less and rob your baby of nutrients that he/she needs. At 25 pounds at 30 weeks, you will not gain 60 pounds this time around. You will not gain 35 pounds in 10 weeks. Don't obsess over every single pound. Eat healthfully for your baby.
With my first pregnancy, I gained 32-34 pounds. With my 2nd, I gained 42 pounds and I lost 39 pound by my six week checkup.
Good luck.

Well typically you should gain weight evenly throughout your pregnancy, I think. So, based on your current weight gain you're gaining about 4.5 pounds per 10 weeks. The baby should grow at least another 3-4 pounds in 10 weeks, and depending on if you have already started producing milk and your boobs have gotten bigger you may gain another 2-3. That means you should expect to gain about 7 pounds in the next 10 weeks IF YOU DON'T GAIN ANY.

I"m not sure why you gained 60 pounds with the first baby.... are you exceptionally thin to begin with or have you been diagnosed with gestational diabetes or have any other medical issues?

What does your Dr say about your weight gain?

Those are really the 2 things to be concerned with.

If you are really eating healthy (ie some people will think they are eating healthy but sauces are hidden with fat and sugar or they are eating salads like I eat salads... with blue cheese dressing and crispies on the top....lol) then your body is gaining the weight that it needs. So, look at your diet and make sure you are actually eating healthy. Your Dr can refer you to a dietician who can go over meal by meal with you and make sure you are eating the right foods.

Then - just get back into your exercise routine after you feel well enough post-delivery.

Congrats though - and good luck.
