A.K.
I would say due to her age, I would give her $8-$10 per hour. Since she doesn't have to do much but it is still a big responsibility to watch two young kids.
I've pretty much only used family to watch my twins but tonight we had our 13yr old neighbor babysit from 8pm to 12am. She really didn't have to do much except give them a bottle at 9pm and put them to bed right after. I payed her what i thought was appropriate but wanted some input on what the going rate was. My twins are 16 months old (i know age is a consideration). I'd like to use her again and want to make sure i'm paying her the right amount. This is her very 1st babysitting job so we'd like to break her in slowly by having her sit only in the evening hours when the kids are sleeping mostly and eventually work her way up to where she will be able to feed them and change diapers.

My daughters babysit and make anywhere from $6.00(someone they have been babysitting for the last 4 years) to $10.00 an hour. I think $10.00 is too much. I tell them to charge $7.00 an hour and let the parent decide if they want to pay more.
I pay $10 an hour for one child. Yes, it is probably a little much, but I never have a problem finding a babysitter! I have had girls call me before they take another job just in case I might want them first.
On care.com, they have a calculator for babysitter pay, based on kids, experience, and zip code. I thought it was a bit high. I, personally would give about $6.
I would agree with $8-$9 per hour. That seems very fair and I'm sure she will appreciate it too. If you feel she is mature and reliable and you want to invest in her.. I would pay her a good wage.
good luck!
