Romantic comedies: Pretty Woman (like you), You've Got Mail, Two Weeks Notice - really any romantic comedy.
What is one of those movies you stop at every time it's on?
I call them background movies because I can enjoy it even though I'm doing laundry or dishes and can just hear them and not really sit down and not watch every second.
For a looong time it was "Pretty Woman."
What's your show or movie?
Romantic comedies: Pretty Woman (like you), You've Got Mail, Two Weeks Notice - really any romantic comedy.
Remember the Titans, Hope Floats, and of the Ocean's 11-12-13, Animal House, Farris Beuller's Day Off, Wizard of OZ.
Remember the Titans. For some reason, I have to watch it when it's on.
Twilight...i know, super cheesy but i love it :)
Top gun and Back to the Future. Always have to leave them on.
Shawshank Redemption (and that's on a LOT!), Mildred Pierce, Love Actually, Moonstruck, The Blind Side...
Pretty Woman, A Few Good Men, Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatoes. I will pretty much stop the channel surfing on any of those and have it on in the background. Good question! :-)
Oh, and for shows, Clean House. Those slobs fascinate me!
Movie- Knotting Hill, just love it!!
Shows- Seinfeld, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond
Shawshank Redemption
Love Actually
Anything with Cary Grant
Moonstruck
The Proposal is the latest one. I love Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds together.
My Best Friend's Wedding. Just hearing the songs makes me laugh.
Pretty Woman
Steel Magnolias
Angels in the Outfield
Dirty Dancing
If I catch them on late at night I will not change the channel.
My hubby watches USA Network, bah, I would rather not. There really isn't anything on tv that I like anymore. I find most of it mindnumbing and stupid.
Movies...definitely Grease, Lord of the Rings, Hair, Hairspray, and any Indiana Jones.
Shows...King of the Hill, Home Movies, Lost, Friends, Twilight Zone, Brady Bunch...probably a lot of others! :)
Seinfeld and Shawshank Redemption
Well I love "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz. Whenever I see it on, I stop everything. But, of course, it's only usually on at the Holidays!! For my husband, it is the Blues Brothers, or Smokey and the Bandit!!
Mine's "Overboard" with Goldie Hawn
Movies:
Lord of the Rings
The Bodyguard
Star Wars
White Christmas
TV:
Jeopardy!
Friends
I've cleaned my house to the BBC Pride and Prejudice. :)
With kids I can't really have background movies on (not my kind at least), but I've enjoyed having 300 on when I'm doing stuff, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek (the movies, I don't have the original episodes), and my husband will put on old tv shows when I'm puttering around at night, like Get Smart, Gilligan's Island, The Munsters, and Green Acres. I can do anything with an Arnold movie on, too. :)
Far and Away - Kidman/Cruise
Grease
Pretty Woman
Steel Magnolias
the Outsiders
most DIY
Friends, Sex & The City
Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Wedding Crashers, 16 Candles, Breakfast Club, Love Actually, Titanic (yep, all 3 hours!)
Those are just a few I can think of off-hand. Fun!
