Bathroom Re-Model

I am SLOWLY gathering information to re-model our bathroom. We presently have a long rectangular shaped tile shower. My fantasy is to replace it with one piece. NO GROUT OR CAULK! One silestone piece for example, but I'm open. My question is two fold. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can go to get such a thing? And, is it even possible to fit a once piece into my bathroom? I would be willing to make the bathroom door wider to get it in!

What can I do next?

Hi P.,
I know it is possible. I did it in house years ago, and it had a small door. But a contractor bought it for me.
Good luck.

We just re-did our bathroom shower and bathtub with stained concrete. Each wall is one smooth piece of concrete that can be stained any color you would like. We even did one wall to look like stacked sandstone. It is beautiful. Send me a private message with your email and I will send you pictures (before and after) and the name and contact information of the person who did itm if you are interested. We did have to get new shower glass because of the stone-like wall but would not have if we had left it smooth like the other sides.

A bathroom that's tiled is WAY more attractive than a 1 piece bathtub kit. You can get them anywhere that is a home improvement store. They come in separate pieces, so you won't need to worry about room, but I would TOTALLY keep the tile for future possibility of selling your house. I called Arlington Marble to replace our bathroom countertops, but they do everything there. Talk to Gene, he is great. They are very reasonably priced! Good luck!

I redid my guest bath with acrylic walls no grout or calk. They took out the tub also and I have a glass shower sliding doors. They also replaced the toilet. Spent about $6,000 total I think. New Bath Technologies. Paul Henryx at ###-###-####. www.newbathtech.com for photos. They did the job in a short weekend since I was working during the week so I didn't have to miss work. It has been a great shower no scrubbing at all.. no more tiles falling out either. I want to do my master bath next.

In my 13 years of appraisal I have never seen such a thing. What I have seen are granite showers that are not all one piece but a solid piece on each side and bottom that are sealed together on-site. But that's why they invented Google and Yahoo.

I understand the desire to have no caulk or grout...I have the hardest time keeping our completely enclosed fully tiled shower clean...but I do think the most important thing is to be sure whatever you choose you are doing something that won't hurt your resale as one lady recommended by going too inexpensive. and also don't go too high on the redo, either. We are members of Direct Buy (my husband and I are actually on the commercial!) and we are so glad we use them for practically anything with our house. Tile, toilets, shower stuff, etc so far we have found has been 50% off of what you would pay in a store. You can get more than just "big" stuff through them, too...anyway, if you are interested in going that route, it will save you money in the long run. We for sure did...and I can give you more info. You also get discounts with recommended installers/contractors for whatever you need done. Worth looking into since there is a 30 day free trial right now.

Hey P.,

Get on the internet and start Googling away! Call some contractors in your area, ask questions. Become a smart buyer and know what you want and what is possible.

You can do it! Good luck, it's not cheap......make sure you get a good size tub, we replaced ours and the new was smaller......:( I hate it. Take care
