My husband is a floor covering installer...he's pretty sure that is a permanent stain...however...he did say that sometimes there is a big build up of wax...and you could try to "strip" the floor and then rewax it....it might work
I've had the same bathroom rugs for the last several years. I wash them regularly and the last time I washed them I noticed that there is a yellow stain on the floor where the rugs lay. They are the kind with the rubber backing. I'm changing the decor of my bathroom and hope to buy new rugs. I've tried scrubbing the floor but nothing is working. Any suggestions on how to get this stain off?
Thanks guys for your advice. I'm gonna try the magic eraser, but it sounds like I might be buying new rugs to cover the stains. :(

I use to think stains where permanent also... Have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Erasure? Not sure if it will work, but man I had some stains and never thought they'd come out and walla, the magic erasure took them out!! Now get the original, the one in the pink box, I think it's called super scrubber or something like that does not work as well for some reason.
Good Luck,

The discoloration on your floor is called BHT yellowing. It is from the rubber backing on your rugs. BHT is used to keep the rubber pliable, and can transfer into other materials including carpeting. The stain is permanent, sorry!
I noticed the same thing in my old bathroom. But I think it was more from the sunlight coming through the window or skylight that slightly faded the tile....but I'm not sure. It was pretty slight on my floor, and I never found anything that made it seem cleaner.
sorry

Have you tried mixing baking soda and water into a paste and rubbing it on your floor? It takes a bit of elbow grease, but I have found this works on most stains. Even the food coloring stains that bleach won't get out of my counter tops.
Good luck!

Hi Crista,
Try Clorox Clean-Up, the spray, it works for everything for me. Also, Mr. Clean Erasers.
C.,
