BC Mess up...when Should I Test?

I forgot my pills when we went on vacation. I am late, but getting a negative reading on the home pregnancy test. When would you test again...let me give you a time line:

Last Menstral Period start date: July 20
Started pills: July 25
Stopped taking pills: August 4 (so I only took 11 pills in this cycle)

I was supposed to start my period yesterday August 17, but it didn't come. I tested and it is negative. I'm wondering how long I should wait again to test? Those suckers are really expensive and I'm sure that me only taking 11 pills messed up when I ovulated which is now affecting my period.

What can I do next?

What I do when there is any slip up is test 4-6weeks from the time my hubby and I had sex that was unprotected. I just get a test that has a two pack, I test at four weeks from the time it went down, and if negative then wait two weeks and take the other test at six weeks. If both are negative, then I feel pretty confident. I would say though that when I was using bc my dr advised me to hold off on taking any more while I was waiting to find out. Good luck, hope it goes however you are wanting it to:)

I hear the Dollar Tree pregnancy tests are just as accurate as any other. You could get a few of those and only have a few dollars invested. I will be in similar shoes this month, as I kept forgetting to go get my pills at the pharmacy, and ended up missing the first 3 in the pack. I'll probably be at the Dollar Tree myself in a few weeks. :)

Hope things turn out the way you are hoping...

The Dollar Tree tests do work well, and if you have absolutly no self control (like me) I would probably take one every day until A. I started or B. got a positive... It does seem like because you stopped about the time you would have ovulated in a normal cycle you are probably just out of wack. Good Luck!

Give it time--and don't stress out. Everything's okay. After several prego scares, I realize it all works out whether or not we know what's going on. Also, I know this isn't very appealing, but the preg sticks at the dollar store work just as good as the ones at rite-aid. I know, sometimes cheapness sucks, but if money's an issue, it's an option.

I took birth control for an entire month and then quit and it messed up my cycle for 3 months! I'm guessing your cycle is just messed up right now. For money's sake, I would probably wait a week, then if you haven't started take an early detection test (those are more reliable imo, but everyone has their own thoughts). If that tests negative, too, then I'm sure your hormones are just messed up and they will eventually balance again. Good luck!
