My daughter's 2nd birthday party is this weekend. I decided to just stick to the classic theme because it is adorable and kids love it:
Princesses and Superheros

Kids will come in costume and we'll have a fashion show, dancing with maraccas, bubbles, parachute play, etc.

For a 6 year old, a local clown may be a hit, or if you have a friend with a good singing voice/energetic, maybe she could dress up as a princess and do princess story time, etc. A guy could be a superhero and save the day.

A treasure hunt to find the goodie bag you give them at the end...
Cookie decorating...
Picture frame making/decorating (you keep the frames and mail them back to each attendee with a picture and thank you card)

I hope this gets your creative juice going.

My son just went to a Cookie Birthday party... It was really cute. They had a cookie stacking contest with the winner of the most cookies stacked receiving a little gift. Then, they had prebaked sugar cookies in all different shapes with an array of decorating materials - colored icing, chocolate chips, sprinkles, m&ms, red hots, etc.

The food served was of course cookies and milk - simple and inexpensive. My son had such fun! I'm thinking about doing this for his birthday next year...

Do you sew? One party I saw done for a little girl was a tea party. The Mom got the waist measurements as well as the measurement from the waist to the ankle of each girl attending. Then she instructed them to wear dressy white shirts and straw hats. Upon their arrival, they put on the simple taffeta skirts and for the craft time they decorated their hats with ribbon & flowers. Then they had a fancy tea party with tea cakes, finger sandwiches & drinks in pretty tea cups. Each girl got to take home their hats & they had a wonderful time.

OR you could just ask them to dress up FOR a tea party & have a nice tea party for them. With help from other Mom's this would a lot of fun. You can take such wonderful pictures as well.

Happy Birthday!!

My daughter wanted a rock star party. So we brought her favorite CDs and played them. When the girls arrived we fixed their hair. (sprayed different colors) and painted their nails. Bought a red carpet at Party central and led it up to a stage. They had a great time..

Consider an Olympics theme. I did that last year for a 5-year-old and it was a blast. We downloaded the theme song and had games (sack race, water balloon toss, etc) and prizes. It was warmer at the time, but I am sure you could come up with some different games. Have fun and Happy Birthday to Vedika!

If she likes a certain character or things you could use that as a theme such as flowers or Minnie Mouse. I remember one of my friends having a birthday tea party, we went to this shop that was in an old house. They had dresses, hats, gloves etc. for dress up. After we got into the dress up clothes we were shown into the diningroom by a man dressed in a tuxedo to our places. Each place had a name. We were served hot tea in real china cups and saucers, cookies, cake and ice cream. I am not sure if there are any place that do that type of party in your area but I do remember having so much fun! If your daughter does not really have a fav. you could take here to the store and let her look at the party area and pick something out then build from that! Enjoy and Have a great time!
