Well, for me they are at Game Stop and Ulta ... controllers for PS3 are 34.99 and at Ulta Stila Smudgeproof eyeliner (THE BEST) is 9.99 for TWO typically 20 each!!!! So, that is where I am going.

Black Friday is irritating and detracts from the enjoyment of Thansgiving.

My kids work in retail, they had to cut our family time short to go to bed early because they have to be at work at like 3 am. The retailers are getting ridiculous.

I saw the same TV at Best Buy. I checked online and it is only available in store. So, unless you were willing to literally camp out for days on end, then you are SOL on that one!

ETA: I just got back from Wal-Mart. I gave up and said screw it after I almost got creamed by another car in the parking lot, almost got hit upteen dozen times in the store. I couldn't find ANYTHING that I wanted from the sales flyer. I literally could not walk through the store. I GAVE UP!!!!! Please remind me of this when next year after I have had time to forget what a clusterXXXX this was!

I really don't know...

I am fortunate I guess that my kiddos are older...

I get/make a few token gifts...and give them $$ for after christmas sales...

I remain still full from T day dinner...the kiddos are playing scrabble...I am baking brownies...(have ice cream to top them with when 'just' cooled...YUM!)

I want to fully enjoy T day ...

THEN...(after leftovers tomorrow)...I will worry about the 'next' holiday!

Best Luck!

I have the absolute best deal. I am drinking hot chocolate, chatting with friends on the internet, and my kids are all asleep. I looked through all the ads. I wrote down prices from last year for the weekend and the month of december. Most times there are spot deals that are better in coming weeks all without getting up early, all the shoving, pushing and insanity to not get what I came for. If this thrill of the hunt thing is your happiness I apologize as it is not mine. I am so dissapointed that people are so willing to give up a day with family, making memories for kids to stand on line with strangers who believe they want "whatever" more.

None of the deals are great enough for me to venture out in the vulture crowds around here.

The big one blanket from Kohls. Still $8.99 retail for $43.99. The cheapest I purchased was $15.99 a few weeks ago on them. The reason I say that is because I am always at a loss as to what to buy for gifts. These blanket throws make excellent gifts. Soft, warm and wash up well. Also lightweight. If you have a 15% off coupon like I did then you'd be paying $7.64 plus tax. :)

My husband and I didn't go shopping until 12 on Friday. Grandparents watched the kids while we got some shopping done....Thanksgiving was relaxing and enjoyable.

The nay sayers are so much fun, aren't they? Sorry---it's impossible to tell you what to buy. The best Black Friday deals are the ones that YOU need first (something that needs to be replaced or whatever), then what fits YOUR budget and would rock YOUR world (or your recipients' worlds). It's really a pretty personal thing. SO MANY people were leaving 2 of the stores I was at in the wee hours of the morning with TVs. But no matter how great the price was, I have a new TV already and don't allow them in bedrooms, so it wouldn't be a good deal to me no matter how low the price.
The door busters are over now, but you can get a paper and see what sales are going on that interest you! Happy shopping!

A lot of the super great deals are gone by the time I'm willing to get up and what's left after the initial surge of rabid shoppers amounts to bait and switch.

After reading about the germiest places in the mall, I almost don't want to go out without wearing rubber gloves and about a gallon of hand sanitizer:

Honestly, I think some of the best deals I saw in the sales fliers was some dirt cheap kitchen appliances at Walmart. Food processors for less than $10 type of deals. Of course, they weren't the high end brands. But since I don't need those items, I will be skipping it.

I might have considered venturing out in the "crowds" if they opened at 6:00 a.m. like they used to do. But at midnight tonight? Or 3:00 a.m.? Nope. Not going to be happening. Even if I really wanted to, my husband is sleeping b/c he has a really early shift tomorrow, and I know he would be worried I was out "in it" and wouldn't sleep well. Or I'd be worried that my coming home would wake him up (garage door, large family dog barking upon my car's arrival in our cul-de-sac, and the subsequent whining and tail flapping against the washer/dryer as I tried to stealthily sneak into the laundry room). There IS no such thing as sneaking into our house, lol. He has to be up around 5:00 for work, so I think I'll just skip it all. MAYBE, MABYE I'll run out around 9:00 am to BB&Beyond, to see if they have any ihome ipod docks/speakers still available at steep discount. But otherwise, I think I'll just wait.

I honestly don't see any great deals for my fam. If it weren't for the crowds there were some sweaters i might get myself. Nothing else seemed super good, I noticed Toys R Us the few things i might get there are on sale on Saturday too. I hate paying full price but i have a feeling they want my business bad enough that there will still be some resonable price reductions. have fun and be safe.

The best deal is what you feel you want or need to buy. For some, it may be a 200 buck TV, for others, it may be 5 buck pajamas.

G.:

Did you check your paper? We got our paper yesterday and it was filled with fliers on sales...

Sorry - I don't plan on venturing out tomorrow to a retail store....the crowds will be too much and the deals that they claim to have will most likely be gone if you aren't there at midnight when they open up...the fine print usually says "limited supplies" so that means they may have 5...but they are willing to up-sell you!! :)

good luck!!

I heard best buy had $800+ TV for $200. but only the first 10 or so. So here in Phx, they were camping out as early as Tuesday night to get in. UGH
