Best Digital Cameras for Moms?

I'm a huge fan of Canon. Even the cheaper models are really good. My home printer/scanner is also made by Canon and it is by far the best printer I have ever owned!

Nikon 8200 Have SLR but somtimes it is just too big. Th 8200 takes awesom pictures.

we bought the olympus stylus tough camera. Its waterproof and shock proof which means you can take it anywhere, especially great for the swimming pool or waterpark, takes AWESOME underwater pictures and if i drop it because of my kids or they drop it it won't break. Best camera i have ever owned. ESPECIALLY since i am a mom! this camera is KID PROOF!

Also though, the iPhone is really GREAT, with taking photos and videos. And if you have an iPhone, you can do all of that. Super good quality which rivals or is even better than some digital cameras.
My Hubby has an iPhone... the current version. And it takes AWESOME photos and videos, and is so convenient because you don't have to carry around an extra gadget, just to take pictures. He always has his phone on him etc.

I have never had a problem with either of them. The lenses are fantastic.

The can be used as a phd camera (push here dummy - fully automatic) or in manual mode. It has many preset modes and also does video.

I have a cannon powershot. It's not like the huge cannon but the pictures are just as good.

I'm a Canon girl. I've always loved my Canon cameras over the years. I have the Canon Rebel Xsi. I LOVE it! I am into photography so I have many lenses and a pro flash as well. It takes beautiful pictures, the manual is easy to read AND understand and the controls are easy to use.

you cant go Wrong purchasing a canon, nikon , or sony. I would stay with these manufactures. Nikon has really made an effort over the past few years to go after the prosumer market such as your self. and if the traditional DSLR are a little bigger than you would like to carry around, the new nikon1 series is a smaller camera w interchangeable lens, and sony has done something comparable. Hope this helps I am a nikon person myself and thats what I use in my studio.

From what I understand Cannon and Nikon are always on the top of the list of all the lists, including Consumer Reports.

I don't have an interchangeable lens one because frankly that is too much for me to deal with on top of two little ones (some day I dream of having a "real" camera! :) but I have used the Cannon Power Shot for a number of years now and LOVE it so I'd recommend all Cannon products!

I have a Nikon D5100, it's a lot of camera really, but holy cow, I have no formal training and I've taken some amazing shots of my kids with it! I have 3 different lenses I interchange, all do different tricks and it's always fun to experiment:)

I love Nikon. I have the D7000, but that is a lot of camera for someone who isn't interested in going pro. I have a small Sony that is about 5 yrs old and started to give me problems about 2 yrs ago as well as parts around the lense fell off after about 2 yrs.
I would suggest going to a reputable camera store and expressing your needs and asking the differences between the different camera makers. They should be able to help you pick one that is right for you. Don't be afraid of these places. They are not vultures and they will not push you to buy a pro camera. They usually don't work on commission. They might get $10 for selling you a lense but that's no incentive for them to push you into a camera you don't need. And they want you to go back to them and tell your friends about them.
I also like going to them over say Walmart or Best Buy because they usually have a 10 day return policy, as long as the camera still looks good and you haven't filled out any warranty papers in the package. I went to Ritz, took pictures and exchanged the camera after 5 days without any issues. Make sure you find out their return policy before buying. You don't want buyers remorse. ;0)
