Either or both Sign-A-Lot or Signing Time! They are the best and the kids and parents get to learn something!
For sheer entertainment factor - I'd go with "Little House on the Prairie". Costco usually has them and they aren't on TV anymore.
Am thinking of ordering DVDs for nieces and nephews this Christmas. What are the currently popular ones for 6 year olds, 10 year old girls and 14 year old boys?

How to Train Your Dragon. Love it!
we just bought UP, and we all love it.
I second "How to Train Your Dragon" and "UP"! Up is one of the best movies that's been made -animated or otherwise -in years! If they don't have the Toy Story movies or Toy Story 3 yet -that's a biggie!
I have no idea about the 14 year old boy, but you may want to ask his parents what he's into. If I were buying a DVD for a 14 year old boy, I would buy "The Goonies." They just released it for the 25th anniversary. It's perfect fodder for that age (I was 15 when it came out and I loved it and every guy I knew loved it). He would probably enjoy it AND get a kick out of the "retro" factor. You also probably couldn't go wrong with The Lord of the Rings trilogy -but he may already have it.
I hear Toy Story 3 is a hit for the 6 year old... (even my 29 year old sister likes it) Haha. ;)
The 10 and 14 year olds may enjoy the 'Harry Potter' movies?
The new Karate kid?
Avatar?
How to train your dragon?
The Last Airbender?
That's about all I know for boys.
Good luck!
I agree UP is a great movie for kids and adults! My kids also love the scooby doo series (movies too) My daughter LOVES Labyrinth (throwback from the 80;s!!! Ramona and Beezus just came out on DVD too
