Which are the best goggles for my 3, 5, and 6 year olds? We plan on spending a lot of time in the pool this summer, but none of them prefer to have red eyes at the end of the day. They have some, but they leak and leave red lines around their faces. Any suggestions on a good pair?
I guess I will be getting Speedo! I know they have different styles, are any better than the other?
I agree with the other responses. Speedo, my daughter is on the swim team and loves those. They don't leak and they don't leave marks on her.
Buy Speedo....and get the ones that have 2 straps around the back. One strap will go high and one lower...Like above and below the ponytail, if it is a girls. These stay on well, don't slip around, don't leak. They are the only ones that my kids love. You won't have to readjust constantly! Have a great summer.
We love Speedo Futurity Jr., but there are several different Speedo goggles for kids that are fantastic. If you have a swim shop nearby they'll usually have all the kids goggles available for fit/trial before you buy.
Speedo goggles are the best. You will spend a little more, but your child's eyes are worth it. They will last longer than the cheap things you can get at Wal Mart.
Have 3 teen age high school swimmers. We have tried them all. I am summer swim coach to 70 swimmers. I tell everyone "Speedo" goggles.
Here is what you are looking for:
One piece construction for eye piece with flared edges around eyes
(not 2 separate eye pieces that are connected by an adjustable nose piece)
(no gaskets or removable plastic ~ they just leak)
Adjustable silicone straps that can be positioned high and low (2 straps)
UVA protection
Tinted lenses if they will be used outside ~ this reduces glare from sun
Lane 4 makes Jr H2O goggles that are good. They sell for about $12-15 each.
My kids like TYR's they wear the TYR swimple's. They are 4 and 7 and both do competetive swim. Youth size and single piece construction is the big thing. Don't get the cutesy goggles or the goggles that have a separtate connector over the nose.
we like the kids Speedo goggles, there are some that have different fish surrounds; we have a orange and black clown fish one and a blue/gray whale/dolphin one. Speedo is more expensive, but so much better - they do last longer and fit better. Also, look for some that have tinting for the sun if that is necessary.
I have a third year NWAL swimmer. He loves Speedos. There are different levels of them, but none of what you want comes from WalMart. They should cost at least $15. Additionally, he has fallen in love with TYR. They have a very refelective exterior, and these have become his favorite during competition.
