Hello,
We are taking our 2.5 year old on a plane trip in a few weeks, and want to take our portable DVD player along. We've not used any kind of earphones, etc with it on him, and obviously need to on the plane. What kind s the best option for this for a toddler?
Thank you! D.

I bought the fisher-price kid safe headphones for my daughter when she was 3. They were made for their kid tough line of dvd players I think but she used hers for her barbie girl MP3 player. I don't like my kids using regular ear buds and she kept breaking headphone (like 5 pair) so we tried these. They are tough enough to handle normal kid roughness and soft and gentle on little ears. I got mine at walmart but that was a long time ago. I did see them on Amazon for $15 if you can't find elsewere. Hope this helps :)

I have an active and curious 2.5 y/o and I got him some kids headphones by KidzGear off Amazon.com for about $15. They are very lightweight so he has no issue wearing them. They have a decent amount of padding around the ear and there is a volume dial on the cord so the parent can control the level of sound.

I would think something like the "old school" kind that are big and chunky that go over his head and over his ears. NOT the earbud kind that you have to stick in your ears...they always fall out and are hard to get in.

I know that at Target and Best Buy and some others places they have a cute brand called "Skull Candy" They have adult and child versions...$20-25 for the kids but good quality and good warranty and cute styles/colors.

We use the older over the padded over the ear kind that used to used all the time with walkman's. We started using a portable DVD player with our daughter around 2.5 years old and she has never had a problem with them.
