oh, my 6yr old has holes/patches in every pair of jeans he owns. I guess he plays hard. Any suggestions on where to buy affordable jeans that holds up to the roughness of a 6yr old boy!!
I still haven't found any jeans that can stand up to my 8 yr old son! What I do is iron on patches on the inside of the knees before he even starts wearing them, they have held up pretty well this way :) This is a kid who can ruin a pair of jeans on the first day he has them, and since I started (pre)patching them, they've ALL made it farther than that, lol!

We buy his a size big (they have double 1" thick elastic on the inside that buttons on each side to different waist measurements, and cuff the bottoms) and they last 18mo -2 years of knee sliding, skateboarding, tree climbing. We've had 1 pair rip out of the 10 or so pairs we've bought over the pas 6 years (since he was 2). All the seams are reinforced, fabric is reeeeally durable. Toddler sizes have doubled fabric on knees, but kid sizes don't.
Some jeans sold at Sears have a guarantee on them that they will outlast the child. LOL
uggg, this is the bane of my motherhood.
the toughskin brand from sears is expensive but if you keep your reciept and he wears them out you can get a new pair IN the same SIZE.
I think oldnavy jeans are cute and cheap but they NEVER last.
My school dress code is no sweats but if you don't have that restriction you might think about wind pants etc.
I like Old Navy jeans for my son.
I get Old Navy jeans for my 6 year old when they are on sale for $10 a pair. He's pretty rough but they seem to hold up well.
Lee jeans with reinforced knees from Kohls. They have the adjustable waist too. My son actually outgrew them and they still look good.
I've found Canyon River Blues to be the best of any...I can't remember if I got them at Sears or Penney's, but it's one of them. Osh Gosh is pretty good as well. However, sewing patches in knees is inevitable...especially with kindergartern & 1st grade-aged children. It's not how he plays. It's how the teachers have them crawl around & sit on the floors at school because I have girls and they all took out the knees in every pair of jeans they owned.
Buy a few pairs of expensive ones it's cheaper then having to replace several cheap pairs during the year or get them on sale. We have never had carharts, or lands end rip. We have good luck with childrens place but those eventually wear in the knees. My son used to rip his pants as soon or shortly after the tags came off until I started buying carharts and llbean. It's worth the cost in the long run.
Honestly, when my son was that age I went to local thrift store for jeans. He was h*** o* pants, and outgrew them every 6 months. It takes some dedication - I stopped in about once a week - to find jeans in good condition - but the prices can't be beat and he was just going to wear them out or outgrow them in a few months anyway.
Sears Kids Club is great! IT's a free club , just save the recipt and you can bring in the old pair for a new one...same size of course!
