I've decided to take some photography classes and make some extra money. Can you recommend some places to learn all the tricks?

Thanks!
T.

Community colleges often have non-credit photography classes.

You first have to get a good DSLR camera. Get a book specific to your camera and read it. Then just practice, practice and more practice. Taking classes is OK but you usually have multiple types of cameras so they teach general terms and usage. So you really don't learn much. I have learned more by just reading and practicing. If you can find a class specific to the camera you have or intend to purchase then that would probably be a good one. Good Luck!! I absolutely love photography.

Well, depending on what type of photography you want to learn...I suggest you get a short-term part-time gig at a local portrait studio. Ones like Target, Penney's, Sears & Portrait Innovations are hiring now for Christmas season help. That is how I started out...at Sears. I ended up loving it! I found my passion and I worked there for 5 years, eventually becoming the manager of my own studio. I decided to have more children though, so I quit working there. However, I was able to gain the knowledge and skills I needed, and now as a SAHM I occasionally photograph weddings, children and Senior portraits. I honestly believe that no photography class can give you any amount of knowledge compared to actual photography experience.
