What are some of your favorite websites to go to with your kids or if you have older kids, that you allow them to visit to play fun/educational games? For instance, right now I visit the ABC section of www.starfall.com with my 2 year old and he loves to watch me click on the letters and hear the sounds they make. That's perfect for him right now however my 5 year old has long since outgrown it and we have yet to find something that he really enjoys. We've tried a few websites like pbskids and there are a few games for him but nothing that we've fallen in love with. I envision adding a little computer time a few nights a week while I'm cooking dinner, I'm even thinking I can use it as an incentive to do chores/etc if I can find something he likes enough.

What can I do next?

There are wonderful, free puzzle sites online. You can google and find one.
I don't remember the one my son and I enjoyed so much. The puzzles range from very simple, with just a few pieces, to quite complicated.
They have puppies, kitties, flowers, boats, etc. You use the mouse to move the puzzle pieces.

It's really quite fun and I think great for visual/thought process and dexterity.
You can choose the puzzle and the way you want the shapes to be.
It's pretty fun. I think your 5 year old would really like it.

Best wishes.

My 5 and 7 year olds go to

ggg.com (girlsgogames.com)--You can use either. This has puzzles, dress up, cooking, more of the "fun" type games that don't necessarily have a lot of educational value but do have some. My son likes it too.

My six year old likes www.zoodles.com and www.smartyants.com/. www.heroup.com is also a favorite website but it's not educational at all. Fun? Most definitely.
