Baby #2 is on the way and my first daughters newborn clothes have awful yellow stains from her breastmilk spit-up. (sorry if that's too much information!) Any good ideas on how to get these out? Dreft and Tide are just not cutting it. Thanks!

This will sound nuts but go to a Farm and fleet or tractor supply ifyou have one and look for a white bottel with red writing that is for petstains and odors. It is not toxic and is designed for "organic" stains. It hasbeen working on my sons clothes really well. Just use it as a pre treater, there are instructions on the bottle. ITalso get almost ANYTHING out of carpet! Good luck!

I have used effrident tablets (for false teeth) It works fairly well. Use about 4 tablets to a gallon of water. Let soak.

I use SA8 products - they are fab. I have only a coupld stains that I couldn't get all the way out, and they are lightened considerably - barely noticable. I also sell these products, if you are intersted I can get you a sample pack of them for you to try before you purchase (they aren't avalaible in stores)

Try soaking the clothes in Oxy Clean or try Spray & Wash Max. It may take several tries to complete remove the stains. I have not attempted to remove old baby stains, but I have had luck removing other difficult stains.

Once the stain is set by being put into a dryer it is next to impossible to get those stains out.You might want to try a OXY clean product.I use the powder and make a paste I work into thestain then soak for several hours before I run through the washer.I also use a old tooth brush while it is soaking and scrub the spot.Hope this helps.

I would use Dreft Stain Remover. If that doesn't work then try M-30. It is a heavy duty cleaner (can find a small tub for $1 at Dollar stores). It works well, but since it is an automotive cleanser, I always re-wash the clothes in Dreft.
Hanging clothes outside on a clothes line will also help whiten any old stains. The sun does wonders!

IMMACU-10 enzyme based not chemical; in the meantime while you're trying to find it (let me know if you're local to the Fishers area) soak them in some good ole PEROXIDE. It won't eat the fabric like bleach tends to and it's cheap, too!

Use cascade dishwasher powder and clorox 2 powder for colors. Fill the washer with HOT water and those two products (a cup or so of each) and let them soak and those stains should disappear. After they have soaked for a while let the water drain and then wash as usual. I found this remedy in a recipe book many years ago and I SWEAR by it! I get stains out of stuff that still shock people to this day. My family calls me the "LAUNDRY QUEEN", LOL. GOOD LUCK and if you do try this please update as to how it worked!!

Have you tried Zout? It's the best stain remover I've found. I can't remember if it works on breastmilk, but I know it's gotten out babyfood carrots before. Hope it helps!

Hello- I would try the Baby Oxi-Clean- if you can find it. I buy it at Target and love it. We have 4 children and I had a lot of old stains on baby clothes from my second that I got out with the Baby Oxi-Clean. It works very well. I also think that Babies R Us sells it. Hope this helps.

A little about me: I am a stay at home mother of 4 children- ages: 8,7,2, and 6 months- and hopefully more!!!!!

Hi R.,
The best thing to use is Shaklee's Nature Bright (Bleach alternative that is safe for whites and colors), better yet with their laundry detergent. It is amazing, it will get out almost anything. I have gotten stains out NUMEROUS times that have already gone through the dryer a few times as well as stains on clothes that I had picked up from garage sales. Even better, this product is very safe for your new born's clothes, it is part of Shaklee's Get Clean and Go Green line. You will love it! Be very careful with Dreft and Tide, they sound safe but have a lot of hidden toxic chemical in there that cause skin irritation, excema, and other allergies. My daughter's asthma has gone away since we started using Shaklee's non-toxic cleaners. If anyone would like to see what hidden dangers are in laundry detergents, please email me and I will forward you some information.

I bought some onesies at the thrift store that had set in stains on them and they came right out with a combination of Shaklee's Basic H2 and Nature Bright. I have yet to find something that I can't get clean with Shaklee's products. (From tile grout, carpet, pine tree sap, oil, rust stains on clothes, blood, grass stains - you name it! I've even heard of people using Basic H2 to treat diaper rash!) Plus, they are green, all-natural, non-toxic and super concentrated so a tiny bit goes a very long way. (I've had my bottle of Basic H2 for about a year and a half, use it on everything, have even given away samples, and it's still half full!)

You can check out the products at my website http://shaklee.net/carriebarta but if you're interested in trying before you buy, you might be able to find a distributor in your area who would be willing to give you a demonstration. Just go to www.shaklee.net and type in your area!

There is a stain remover especially for babies. You can find it in the baby aisle usually with the formula and bottles and sippy cups. Check around that area and you will see it. The name of it is escaping me at the moment. But it took really old formula stains out of a blanket we got at a yard sale. It works wonders. Good luck.

The best stuff I have found is OxiClean (the regular type or the baby type). I have gotten all of those yellow stains out with those, some that were 3 or more years old. I soak the clothes at least 6 hours, sometimes overnight and then throw them in the wash. I've had a few pieces I had to repeat the soak but less then 5 out of all the clothes I've done. I couldn't live without it. Nothing I have found works better.
